POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I love people who make the things they want to see in the world. I think that’s one of the things that bonded me with @colexhenderson, @jtulius & @kenisamoa. It’s at least one of the things I admire most about them. Whether it’s writing, baking, or making music, my homies aspire to bring beauty to the world.

Going on four years now, we’ve written love letters to each other as part of a series called “Cypher.” This is inspired by “Echo,” letters from @kieselaymon, @mychaldenzel, @mooredarnell, @_marlonpeterson & @drdrummerboig, featured in Laymon’s book, How to Slowly Kill Yourself and Others in America.

We’ve shared these letters online in previous years. But this year, we got an opportunity to publish them in @thirdmindcomics’ fourth issue of Superspreader. Lots of great artists in here, including my friends @girlgutters & @traplordcleo. Link in my bio to snag you a copy. Hope you enjoy & maybe gift one to somebody special.

DOGSTAR 1 bio-vinyl and cassettes have landed 🛬

using a handheld scanner @34k.beam created the album cover, @garnetfisher and i found a flower quilt from the 1800s at a habitat for humanity and used the back of it to create the texture for the tracklist.. and so many more special moments folded into this labor of love, collaboration, healing and friendship.

i wanted it to be like Dead Sea Scrolls meets I Spy 📜🕵️

more about the bio-vinyl below:

i give my friends flowers sophomore album DOGSTAR 1 pressed into a limited edition bio-vinyl and made into a limited-edition cassette, independently produced by i give my friends flowers with @greenlakespressing_lt

Featuring a gatefold design, a double-sided poster, a printed “poem sleeve” - handmade artwork, liner notes, dedications and more.

Bio-Vinyl is the next step toward reducing the carbon footprint of record production and supporting cleaner materials for the long run. Unlike standard PVC, which is made from fossil fuels, Bio-Vinyl uses bio-based compounds that replace crude oil in the production process.

On average, Bio-Vinyl reduces CO₂ emissions by around 38% compared to standard PVC, while maintaining a lifespan of up to 75 years — matching the longevity of traditional records.

The composition of the record remains the same, ensuring identical sound quality, appearance, and durability. In additional to being fully recyclable, Bio-Vinyl also tends to accumulate less static electricity, resulting in cleaner playback.

An investment in this intentionally-crafted offering is an investment in a more beautiful way forward ~

DOGSTAR 1 ~ our first LP, self-produced + distr 🐾⭐️

“Hard to generalize, quantify and/or compare, i give my friends flowers feels totally authentic and original, which goes a long way in a world full of cookie cutter creators and clout chasing copycats.”

- ROCKDAFUQOUT

“Everything from the soulful vocals to the lo-fi atmospheric production makes this into a worthy listen, especially if you enjoy the likes of Toro y Moi or Bon Iver.” — Blanktapes.co

“Organic and electronic elements sit side by side like they’ve always belonged together.” — Where the Music Meets

Made with friends, for friends.
For anyone you love.

“Midlife Crisis Ambient Moniker” is a Personal Greatest Hits. A Selected Ambient Works Volume 1. Lost Episodes. Archival Deep Dive. Bastard tracks with no home nor family, but with proximity to one another and to my current work, particularly Repeat Until True.

Previously unreleased recordings dating as far back as 2014, with source material as old as 2004.

Midlife Crisis Ambient Moniker is out now everywhere.
I recommend bandcamp, for digi and cassette editions.

Massive love to the crew that helped put this together with me

new EP this weeekkkkkkk - 6 songs from the upcoming full length 🐾⭐️🪽🌸🌀‼️🎶🧑‍🌾🥘🎞️📺🍿🙃 so many beautiful people involved in this. a chapter maybe 13 years in the making (?) or more. was not trying to “make music” - this project started as a genuine visceral response, an almost involuntary and desperate attempt to metabolize years of experiences and regain a connection to the self that had been buried under layers and layers of calluses and disguises - hall of mirrors type shit🪞🌬️🪞🧩 with care and devotion i wove these experiences, dreams, visions, heartbreaks, sicknesses, deaths, altered relationships, unforgettable moments, indescribable feelings, tremors in my body, propulsions of spirit, hysteria and disillusionment, unconditional love and pure joy of angelic measure - into this tapestry that i am just about ready to reveal.. first it’s “A RIVER RUNS THROUGH ME” friday july 17th 🌊🌀🌐 … then it’s “DOGSTAR 1” aug 21 🐾🌟❤️ #newmusic
