Time to land…
Going out on the road with Walter Trout’s band to help them out for three shows was a very special mission. Of course, I had toured with Mr. Trout before, so I knew what he expected from his drummer.
Well prepared and full of passion, I embarked on this short adventure. What a wonderful band he has brought together once again — and what an unstoppable energy this man has!
First and foremost, my job was to keep this moving train firmly on the tracks. But just as importantly, I wanted to bring some extra energy and groove, making sure the show didn’t lose any of its power.
I returned home from this journey a little wiser. Harmony and mutual respect within a group are essential — not only onstage, but also during all the flights and long hours spent travelling together by bus.
Touring and performing with Walter and the band felt like a beautiful spiritual journey. The different personalities, life experiences and habits within the band were exactly what created such diversity, connection and harmony.
And yes… I felt completely at home among this group of free-spirited, ego-free people.
Thank you, Walter, for trusting me to do the job.
And to John Avila, Ronald Bakker, Jon Trout and Phil Caseberry: thank you for making me feel so at home within the group. You guys rock!
And a big thank-you to @marie.trout for managing and arranging everything surrounding these shows.

What a day!!!
Yesterday I traveled to Haarlem to officially receive the first vinyl copy of the album “Mr. Big Boss Man” by artist John “Rabbit” Bundrick.
It’s a great honor for me to have worked as a producer on this beautiful compilation.
I started working on it back in May 2024…
It feels very special to be holding the record exactly two years later.
The album features 21 musicians from the Benelux, Italy, the USA, and the UK, which is of course fantastic.
The album will be released on May 29, but three singles will be released on streaming platforms beforehand, so you can already get a taste of what’s to come! (Link in the Insta bio.)
Let me know in the comments what you think!

Aanstaande vrijdag @bibelotdordrecht – aanvang 20:30.

Update: recording drums for John Bundrick’s album at Icy Donuts Studio.
Although I have my own place at the Sound Vision Studio for drum recording, it is always cool to head out to a different studio for drum tracking!
This time, I went to Roel de Bock’s studio to record some drum tracks. For years, Roel and I have been tracking drums at his or my place as part of our experimental endeavors. Now that we’re both established, it is so cool to get jobs done properly! Contact Roel de Bock at “Icy Donuts” if you’re a drummer searching for a cool location to record drums. (To be continued.)

OMGosh My first “solo-album” was published by TheRoomRecordings exactly ten years ago! Following the release of all of my music albums and singles on streaming alone, I have to say that holding a real record in my hands means a lot more to me. It increases my awareness of the amount of effort, time, and passion required to prepare such a beautiful work of art for publication…
