➲ The Porsche 964 Carrera RS, produced in 1992, was essentially a road-legal race car. One interesting story comes from the way Porsche homologated it for racing. To meet the requirements for motorsport, Porsche had to build a minimum number of lightweight versions of the 964. They did this by stripping the car of sound insulation, air conditioning, and even the rear seats, making it extremely light for a 911.

One famous story involves Porsche engineers taking the Carrera RS to the Nürburgring Nordschleife for testing. During these sessions, the RS surprised even the engineers: despite having the same engine as the standard 964 Carrera 2, the reduced weight and upgraded suspension allowed it to lap faster than many expected, giving early hints of its legendary handling. In fact, the RS became so popular that it sparked the modern trend of “lightweight, track-focused 911s,” inspiring later models like the 993 RS and 997 GT3 RS.

The peak of the AMG food chain. The AMG GT Black Series is powered by a 4.0-liter flat-plane crank twin-turbo V8 producing 730 horsepower, 800 Nm of torque. 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. Oh yeah — it dropped Nürburgring lap record at 6:43 and made history. / @julescapdeville @autobedrijfvanos

The Koenigsegg CC850 is a mechanical paradox in the most beautiful way.

At its heart sits a 5.0L twin-turbo V8 producing 1,385 hp (on E85), making it one of the most powerful homologated road cars ever built.

But the real headline is Koenigsegg’s Engage Shift System (ESS) — a world-first transmission that can morph between a 9-speed automatic and a 6-speed gated manual. The gated lever isn’t just aesthetic - it mechanically reconfigures ratios and shift feel, letting you choose between analog purity and hypercar efficiency on the fly.

Wrapped in a body that pays homage to the original CC8S while integrating active aero and modern lightweight composites, the CC850 is a perfect balance between retro inspiration and bleeding-edge engineering. It’s not just a driver’s car — it’s a manifesto on what driving can still be in an era chasing autonomy.
