My first rolled raglan jumper fresh off the needles 🧶

I have to say i wasn’t overly keen on the shade of pink when it arrived but I was happy to give her the benefit of the doubt for my first go at this pattern. I would also say that I think I made a size too big and would go down a size or two next time. Having said that I can’t fault the pattern, the raglan instructions were super easy and I loved the rolled edges and ribbing.

Yes I have already ordered more yarn to make my next one 😂

KNITTING IS AMAZING. Here is sweater #2. You can see exactly where I finally figured out how to M1L/R without making holes and I sort of love seeing it!!

Roomy raglan notes:
German short rows were a pain but unfortunately did make a big difference. Added back rows were also worth doing!
Easy to read and follow instructions.
I much prefer knitting to measurements than counting rows and stitches. The free ungraded pattern uses inches! Yippee
Perfect shape, perfect drape.

Changes:
Knit yoke to ~10.5" and that was plenty! I was worried about armpits and sleeves and jackets working together. So far so good.
I knit arms to 11" instead of 9" and decreased every 4 rows instead of 6. I would go maybe a half inch longer next time and decrease every 3 for narrower cuffs.

Yarn:
5 skeins of Briggs and Little heritage in brown heather (I have lots of one left). Wow did this bloom gorgeously. NOT itchy but very substantial cozy fabric. Feels wooly but not in an uncomfy way (I don't like mohair, if that helps). Like I feel like this will last 500 years. I'll use this yarn again with joy.

Blocking:
I am impatient and please enjoy my "hang from the centre, the weight will pull it down enough" strategy - only for the last 10-20% of drying but it goes faster with the bathroom fan. I'm impatient. But also please enjoy the contrast in the last two videos pre and post block!!!!!

One more of these forthcoming, I'll cast on tonight.

Finally finished with my Roomy Raglan made with yarn scraps from my stash!!

This was a super fun knit and a cool color theory challenge! Strongly recommend if you have lots of scraps!

Knit on 6mm needles for body, 5.5mm for ribbing. I wish I made the sleeves longer :/ but am too lazy to rip back and knit more

It’s done! My scrappy Roomy Raglan by @julesknitthis is off the needles. Just need to weave in the many ends. Trying to decide on a full wet block or just a steam block, as I want to wear it to the pumpkin patch this weekend! I can’t believe it’s almost an FO!

I started this on Friday! Today is TUESDAYYYY. That went so fast. Can’t wait to start my next one!
