Gesture Fields: Improvisational Movement by Julian Quintero The energy that makes up our bodies is never stagnant. Motion and change are the constants that keep us alive. Gesture Fields whips up an excited study of what movement means to an individual versus what it means to a group. We find that there is no perfecting of it, there is no correct way to do it, there is no, as it were, “good or bad.” There is only the human intuitive spirit moving through each and every one of us who wishes to express itself through the pile of bones in which it resides. The imagery, interpreted through the text, both guides the reader and allows one to decide what it means and how they relate. Keep in mind that this mass of sequences is highly conceptual and should be treated as such. Gesture Fields is up to you. Hardcover, 7.25 x 9.75 in, 368 pages Design & Photography @julesziz Printing & Binding @mixamprint Texts: Sondra Fraleigh, Maxine Sheets Johnstone, Curtis L. Carter, Aili Bresnahan, Cynthia J. Novack Typefaces: Calluna, Jali Latin Music: “Close Your Eyes and You’ll Burst Into Flames” and “Ingots” Kaki King
