Yesterday was my birthday, and I spent it doing what I love most which is exploring New York City. From walking around the city to getting red velvet cake at Veniero’s in the East Village, it was one of those simple but perfect days. Most importantly, I got to spend time with the people who matter most to me.

Living with schizophrenia can sometimes make the world feel isolating, but honestly, I never feel alone in New York City. There’s something about this city, the energy, the people, the movement. It always reminds me that I belong here. 💕

What an honor to get to show one of my paintings at the Grammy Museum for the Express Your Possczible talent showcase !!

This night was truly special as it highlighted the immense talent and contributions to art made by those in the schizophrenia community. Creativity is often born of hardship n struggle. Throughout our lives we have gone to the arts as a means to cope and translate what goes on in our minds out to the greater world. I luv arttttt !!!!

U all truly are some of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of seeing perform and I am so lucky to be able to showcase my art alongside you all 🩷🩷🩷

"I feel so honored to be featured as an artist and student by @studentswithpsychosis !
Art, painting in particular, is my passion and making art is a cathartic activity when my psychosis inhibits my capability. For me it’s not about the grade or technical realism, it’s about the emotion evoked and feeling of accomplishment when completing a piece. Getting recognized at Columbia University for my passion is all I’ve ever aspired to. For all the suffering souls out there, don’t lose your goals or determination in the whirlpool of psychosis. It may take a while but it’s very worth it to live your truth. Making art is not only for my own edification but it’s to demonstrate that no matter what life throws at you, everyone deserves to do what they love. I wish that I could go back to me in high school and my first two years of college where I felt alone and so ashamed and scared to talk about my schizophrenia/psychosis. I remember feeling like a freak and like I had this scary skeleton hidden in my closet. I wish I could tell my past self that it is going to be okay, and you are going to meet a lot of amazing people along the way. I wish that I could tell her that you will find strength and even pride in both you as an individual and your community. If you are someone living with schizophrenia/psychosis, please know that you are not alone. 💕💕💕💕
