Tonight in Santa Clarita, “My Severed Arm” strikes! As part of @horrorhausfilmfest it will play tonight at 7pm alongside some really cool shorts, including @cinchthefilm and @the_bones_exist_film that I’ve been on the circuit with! As well, MSA is nominated for Best Horror Comedy!

Their normal venue was tragically burned down in a fire last month, so it’s actually being held in a smaller venue by the mountains, only being given to ticket holders. I’m still at FilmQuest but my buddy and production designer Erik Herrera will be attending!

Here's or new View of "Mary and Margo's Halloween Sideshow of Madness," which is running on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the spooky season in North Hollywood.

The funny narrative revue will put a smile on your face, and you might even witness a sacrifice.

New screening alert!

“My Severed Arm” was selected for the Spooky Film Festival in Martinez at the Contra Costa cinema on Thursday, Oct 29th! It plays with a block of local films and a few pro movies, a festival I’ve screened with before and is always a good time!

FILMQUEST screening details!

“My Severed Arm” plays on Day 2 of the festival on October 23rd at 2pm for a block centered around severed limbs. Kinda hard to argue against that.

Let me know if you’ll be there! Many friends of mine also screening are in the latter half of the fest but always wanna meet more people. I’ll be in Provo Oct 22-26th!

Also, if you got tips for driving to Provo from Burbank, let me know. It’d be the single longest drive I’ve made and not sure whether to split it into two days.

Two Halloween season staple events that HSLA will be attending this weekend.

Haunted Soiree returns in Glendale for its 2026 immersive-meets-cocktail experience in the form of "HauntOberfest." Think eerie, movable theatre and experiences across the reportedly haunted Nocturne Theatre's many rooms.

&

Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre brings their annual shock-fest back to North Hollywood with their "Urban Death Tour of Terror Ultra." That ultra should put you on fair warning if you're familiar with the envelope being pushed way beyond normal levels.

Both of these events are for adult audiences.

I had the privilege of joining 7 other handpicked creators today at @mijodotorg for the recently relaunched & rebranded version of VINE, @divinevideoapp . Founder & CEO @rabble (1st employee at Twitter) was kind enough to share his vision and take real feedback for future updates in person with us. No AI, no censorship, no uploads; everything must be created in-app and videos still have the 6 second cap. Turns out there’s a lot you can fit into 6 seconds. #divine #vine

This past weekend, I got to go to @chicagohorrorfest with my dad for “My Severed Arm” and it was a blast! It was both of our first times going to Chi and had a great time though we had to leave earlier than expected as he was coming down with a cold. He doesn’t usually go see horror movies and he’s camera shy but he came nonetheless 🙂

The response to “My Severed Arm” was phenomenal, got to meet a lot of fun people, and was a solid time. If you saw it but we didn’t talk, hit me up! I had to leave in the morning so I didn’t get to run into anyone after.

Next stop: @firstcutproductions in Wilmington, NC on 10/10, then Horrorhaus and @filmquest on the weekend of 10/23!

To organize it a bit, “My Severed Arm” is playing in FOUR FESTIVALS (with the chance for more 👀) this month! October is often pretty insane for genre fests and had the potential to be even more insane (those fests, they know who they are 🤨).

10/3 at @chicagohorrorfest 8:24pm at the Landmark Theatre!
10/10 For @firstcutproductions in Wilmington, MC at 6pm! Jengo’s Playhouse
10/23 for @filmquest in Provo, UT at the Velour Music Gallery! This is a block centered around severed limbs so it’s hard to top that.
10/23 - 10/25 for @horrorhausfilmfest as we’re still waiting on the schedule in Santa Clarita

Let me know if you’re able to make any of them!
