📍@fondationazzedinealaia Incredibly generous exhibit: Azzedine Alaïa et L’Afrique at the Fondation in Paris. A must-see for any design-curious patron. Up close and personal with dozens of incredible RTW & haute couture pieces in crocodile, horsehair, stingray, leather, and more. So rarely do museums and exhibits allow you to see so many details, so closely, under such bright light and unencumbered by glass! Downstairs is the clothing & upstairs you can peek into the late designer’s workspace that remains just as it was when he passed. Beautiful, emotional, and inspiration. Don’t miss it if you’re in Paris before Jan 2027.

Naomi Campbell’s famous Armadillo Ensemble was auctioned off by @fairwarningart in association with @kerrytaylorauctions, as part of the “Impossible Couture Collection” Auction curated by @petermbrant! Naomi’s ensemble is a custom look from Alexander McQueen’s final collection, Spring 2010 “Plato’s Atlantis”, which Naomi wore to the her own Fashion for Relief auction show in 2010, and later stayed in her personal wardrobe. The look was estimated at $600,000 - $1,000,000, and ended up breaking the auction record for an Alexander McQueen piece at $1,586,000. The auction also broke the records for an Yves Saint Laurent dress, with the 1965 “Mondrian” selling for $750,000, and an Azzedine Alaïa dress, with the sleeveless evening gown that Peter’s own mother, model Stephanie Seymour, wore to the 2001 Met Gala, selling for $175,000. 20 more dresses and accessories from John Galliano, Elsa Schiaparelli, Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen’s Givenchy, Sarah Burton’s Alexander McQueen, John Galliano’s Christian Dior, and others, went up for auction, with all of the lots selling for a total of $3,931,000.
