I am so proud of myself:

I have achieved a dream I set out to achieve a very long time ago. At 8 years old, I was sure I would be great at swimming. However, this sport has changed me over the years. It has been one of the hardest things I have ever done. Day in and day out, this sport tested me. Sometimes I failed. My career didn’t end up how the younger me wanted it to, but I sort of knew that was always going to happen. Because the truth is, I grew up. I am on my way to so many bigger and better things, and I have new goals. But before I turn my new leaf, I have to say goodbye to the sport that gave me everything. This means I have to say goodbye to my teammates. Who, every day, helped me choose to be a good person. Helped me to choose kindness, especially when talking to myself. This also means I have to say goodbye to the people who were there while I was growing up. Who saw how swimming changed my life. Many things are not the same, but those people remain in my heart as the people who made all of the sacrifices, all of the frustration, and all of the tears worth it.

Because this is something that NOBODY is going to ever take away from me. I was a swimmer, and that will never change.
