LETS TALK 2027 BRIDAL FASHION

After years of clean, minimal gowns dominating our feeds, 2027 feels like a return to fashion, and the wider fashion world seems to agree.

Vogue’s coverage of the latest collections points to a clear appetite for lace, halter necklines, dramatic draping and sculptural silhouettes. Tatler, too, has highlighted a shift towards weddings that feel more personal, fashion-led and less bound by traditional bridal rules.

I’m seeing lace more, but less traditional bridal lace and more sheer, layered, textural and almost lingerie-inspired applications. It feels lighter, more sensual and deliberately imperfect.

Waists are getting lower. Basque and elongated corseted bodices remain very popular, halter necklines are starting to have a serious moment, alongside sculptural silhouettes, dramatic draping and, as Vogue has noted, the return of the mermaid.

My favourite shift? Brides are looking backwards to move forwards. Vintage references, heirloom-inspired details, interesting headpieces, scarves and accessories feel collected rather than simply “bridal”. It’s about creating a whole visual story, not just choosing a gown.

Instead, 2027 brides seem increasingly interested in looking like themselves and I am very here for it.
