That’s a wrap for Mary is Naughty! It’s been over a year since I started this documentary, and I can confidently say we are in post-production. I can’t thank Mary, Heidi, Bailey and my entire crew enough. Image 1: One of my favorite images of Mary as I stepped back watching as filmsbymash kept the interview rolling. Photo 2: This image reminds me of how much fun we had in Madison. If I remember correctly it was everyone’s first time in Madison, WI. Photo 3: This image is a reminder to always take a step back and to look at the details of what makes filmmaking so special. Photo 4: On our days off, Mary & Heidi showed us the city of Madison! A day on set, working through the entire day. Documentary Hint #1 🌹🪻🌸🌺🌷🌻🌼💐 Got to meet our composer @turnerburton_ , couldnt be happier with what he whipped up! OH YOU MADE IT THIS FAR

Still thinking about what a great weekend this was for Houston film. ❤️🎬 Thank you to the Houston Cinema Arts Society @cinemasocietyhtx and SWAMP @swampfilm for inviting LSCDF to be part of this year’s Houston Media Conference and for giving us the opportunity to host the Friday night mixer. But we also need to give some flowers to our own people. 💐 🎬 Our Director of Film, Juls Guajardo 🎥 Cinematographers Advocate Adam Lupiani 🎭 Actors Advocate DeAnna Noel, who ALSO moderated a panel on behalf of Actors Circle of HTX @theactorscirclehtx 🫡 President & Founder, Mariela Aguirre Thank you for showing up, representing your respective filmmaking communities and continuing to put time and energy into building something bigger for Houston. Because that’s really what this weekend reminded us of. No single organization is going to build Houston’s film industry. It takes all of us. The actors. The cinematographers. The crew. The organizations. The educators. The people creating opportunities AND the people who keep showing up for them. Houston film grows when Houston film supports Houston film. 🎥 We’re grateful to have been part of it. 🤝 📸: @mgfilm.fotos

Building community isn’t just talking about supporting each other. Sometimes it looks like getting in the car and driving to Austin. 🎬❤️ We made the trip to Austin Short Film Festival to show up for MG and Juls as their short film Free Pizza screened, and we got to watch something even more special happen. They walked away with the Spirit Award, the very first award for this film! 🏆🍕 These are the moments I love. Showing up, sitting in the audience, cheering loudly, celebrating the wins, and reminding the people around you that they have a community behind them. Congratulations MG @mgfilm.fotos, Juls @juls.media, and the Free Pizza team! First award down. 👏🎥 This is what building a film community looks like.

About a month away from the Houston Media Conference! 🎥🎞️ Here’s a few of my fave moments from last year. Thanks to @cinemasocietyhtx @swampfilm and @marielaintexas for the opportunity to be a Media Partner. It was one of the highlights of my year! 🤩 Getting to do what I love — hosting, interviewing, connecting with others, in my hometown while helping increase awareness of Houston’s media industry is an incredible feeling. Truly an act of service 🎖️ And I can’t forget my right hand man @rosetodirect for being my videographer. Audio and visuals were crisp! 👏 Excited to see what’s in store for HMC this year! #oncamera #interviews #hmc #mediaconference

Free Pizza Directed by MG Gillis-Gambrell Life rarely arrives the way you ordered it. A quiet meal in a car becomes the backdrop for an unraveling mind in Free Pizza, a haunting psychological thriller from Texas filmmaker MG Gillis-Gambrell. Blending sharp dialogue with mounting tension and a touch of humor, the film invites audiences inside one man's fractured psyche as guilt, isolation, and existential doubt begin to consume him. Experience Free Pizza as part of our 🔴 Red Block on Saturday, August 15 at 3:30 PM at Eastside Cinema, followed by filmmaker Q&As. Congratulations to @marielaintexas, @juls.media, and everyone who made this weekend’s @pltxfilmfest by @lscdfoundation happen! 🎬👏 Grateful to have experienced the first-ever Pearland Film Festival location scouting tour—conceptualized by @juls.media and led by Pearland Film Liaison & @visitpearlandtx Marketing Manager, Rebekah Burns. ⭐️ Your hard work truly showed. 🙌🏽 From Settlers Cemetery and @litjava to @dfnc_pearland and the Pearland courtroom, it was fun seeing these places through a filmmaker’s perspective. From the location scout to opening night and the meetup at @robraystaproom, this weekend was a reminder that communities are strengthened when we celebrate creativity and connection. It’s inspiring to see Pearland supporting initiatives like this through the 2026 Cultural Arts Grant. 🎥 Cheers to the people who create space for stories that matter. It may have been a little bit of a work weekend, but I was surrounded by greatness. 💚
