NATIONAL RECORD 🇸🇬

For the better part of the past five years, Tia Louise Rozario has set the standard for women’s horizontal jumps in Singapore - and she continues to raise it.

At the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Tianjin, China, the national record holder delivered a two-day showing that underlined her consistency across both events.

On 7 February, Tia recorded 12.91m in the Triple Jump, improving on her own Singapore Short Track record of 12.81m set in 2024.

She returned the very next day and did it again - this time in the Long Jump, leaping 5.96m to break her previous mark of 5.82m, also set two years ago.

It was her first appearance at the Asian Indoor Championships, coming just weeks after her maiden SEA Games outing in December 2025 - a quick turnaround, but one she handled with composure.

A seasoned NCAA competitor, Tia competed for Princeton University, where she was an Ivy League Triple Jump champion, before completing her postgraduate studies while competing at Duke University.

Already Singapore’s outdoor Triple Jump national record holder (13.01m), she has firmly established herself as the country’s leading horizontal jumper. In the Long Jump, her 6.16m personal best ranks her second all-time in Singapore, behind only Eugenia Tan’s 6.18m from 2015.

Across two days in Tianjin, she showed that her level remains right at the top - in both events.

Reflecting on the experience, Tia said:

“It was a privilege getting to compete with Asia’s best and I’m excited to continue working with my coach and team towards bigger jumps.”
