yesterday i lost my one of the most important people in my life. my partner in crime. my built in best friend. words can’t express how im feeling. i feel so empty. so lost. it doesn’t feel real. i’m still sitting here thinking you’ll just walk through the door at any moment. or you’ll call me and tell me that you’re okay and you’re on ur way home. i truly just don’t know how to navigate this loss. i look in your room and it’s exactly how you left it. this morning i sat on the floor in your room and just stared at the wall. you have a quote written on the white board in your room: “there’s no tomorrow.” -apollo creed. and he’s right, tomorrow is never guaranteed. the last thing you said before leaving to Austin was “i love you lauren” and i’ll hold those words with me forever. i don’t even know the first thing about being the oldest sibling. i loved being your younger sister. me, mom, dad, and madi miss you so much. our family is not complete without you. please, hug your loved ones. always say i love you. and never take any time for granted. Jaden, please continue to protect me like you always did. i love you to the moon and back.

Last night I lost my best friend. I feel broken, I feel like a huge piece of my heart has been ripped apart.

Jaden was more than my best friend, Jaden was my family. We met 3 years ago my first semester of my freshman year of college when neither of us really had many friends and ever since we became inseparable. He was always someone that I could count on for quite literally anything. He was someone that would have done anything for me and he quite literally did. Anytime I needed someone or if something was wrong, Jaden was there for me and he always went above and beyond for me in anything that I needed. He would always tell me “I’m always here for you Caro bear”. He was just too good of a person.

It feels weird not being able to text Jaden or know that I will see him again as he was someone who I would see and talk to weekly if not daily. It almost doesn’t feel real, anytime I’d call or text Jaden he’d answer in a heartbeat. And now I can’t even say goodbye. The last text I sent to Jaden was “You are heaven sent” which doesn’t surprise me because once again he was willing to help me with something as he usually does. He quite literally was heaven sent. An angel.

I feel honored to have been as close to Jaden as I was. Jaden was a blessing in my life and he helped me though so many difficult times. I could never repay him for how much he cared for me and had my back. Instead of being upset that he is gone, I need to appreciate the life that he lived and the memories we made. Jaden accomplished all of his goals and was headed on track on the exact path he wanted to be in. Ambitious and honestly a superstar. I am so proud of him and where he was headed.

Jaden, thank you for showing me what a true friend is. I’m definitely going to miss you more than I can imagine. But this isn’t a forever goodbye. I can’t wait to reunite with you and give you a big hug in heaven. I love you Jaden.
