New location is fully open at 1220 Denton St. La Crosse, WI. Please be aware that all appointments with any artist at our shop will be at the new location moving forward. Please don’t make the mistake of going to the old building downtown La Crosse.

The entrance can be a little confusing until we get signage up, but the main front door is just to the right of our open sign.

More photos and videos to come as the space gets more finalized.

Just had a terrifying experience with a client, and honestly, she was lucky that she stopped in with her concerns. She thought she lost the back of the jewelry because she couldnt feel it anymore. This could've become very bad.

Jewlery in place was 18g and 3/16 length post with a dragonfly end approximately 5mm or 6mm in size.

It’s wild that someone would attempt a conch piercing with an 18g needle—that’s nowhere near stable enough for thick ear cartilage.

To have someone walking around with a 3/16" (approx. 4.7mm) bar on a fresh piercing is a recipe for disaster. There is absolutely zero room for the natural inflammatory response. It’s a relief I was able to step in before that dragonfly became a permanent part of her anatomy.

The dragonfly end also not ideal for a fresh piercings as it had sharp corners and edges. You want a bezel set gem or a ball for an initial piece to make healing easier.

For anyone looking to avoid a "budget" disaster, here is a quick breakdown of what a professional setup for a new conch should actually look like.

The Professional Standard for Conch Piercings

Gauge: Typically 14g (1.6mm) or 12g (2.0mm). Using anything thinner, like an 26g or 18g, risks the "cheese-cutter effect" where the jewelry can migrate through the tissue.

Initial Length: Usually 5/16" (8mm) or 3/8" (10mm). This allows for the inevitable swelling that happens in the first few weeks.

Downsizing: A reputable piercer will always schedule a follow-up for 4–8 weeks later to swap the long bar for a shorter one once the swelling subsides.

Jewelry Quality: It should be ASTM F-136 titanium or 14k/18k gold. "Mystery metal" or surgical steel can often cause irritation or allergic reactions that mimic infection.

It’s always better to pay for the expertise upfront than to pay a doctor (or a more skilled piercer) to fix a mess later.

Its almost time for Fridays deal! Just a heads up: lobes and nipples are considered one piercing, and you can get piercings with your friends or loved one! Example: you can get one piercing and your friend can get two, or you and your friends can each get one.
