Before Sumo Cyco, Matt Drake was the lead singer and songwriter for the band dodger. As far back as 2003, Skye could be seen in the crowd at dodger shows all across Ontario. Eventually, it became a hallmark of dodger concerts for Skye to get on stage and perform a song with them.

In 2011, dodger released what would turn out to be their last album as of this writing, In Us We Trust. That album featured Skye on the track “Throwdown”. A music video for it was shot in January 2011, but because it was shot just as Sumo Cyco was about to be unleashed, it has never seen the light of day.

While Skye was working on what would become Sound Soldier, she met and began writing with Rancid’s lead singer, Tim Armstrong. This collaboration led to “(Let’s Get Movin’) Into Action”, the 2nd single off of Sound Soldier.

Because of the constant delays of the release of Sound Soldier, Armstrong asked Skye if he could re-record “(Let’s Get Movin’) Into Action” for his solo album, A Poet’s Life. Skye gave him her blessing, and Tim’s version, simply titled “Into Action”, was released in March of 2007, becoming a minor hit thanks to it getting played heavily on KROQ in Los Angeles. Skye and Tim would shoot a music video for “Into Action” around the same time.

Skye performed “Into Action” live with Tim Armstrong, Lars Frederiksen, and The Aggrolites at the KROQ Weenie Roast y Fiesta 2007 in Irvine, California on May 19, 2007. She would then perform the song with Rancid on 3 separate occasions in 2008: twice in Toronto and once in New York City. During those 3 performances, Skye would do the last verse from her version of the song.

In the period between Sound Soldier and Sumo Cyco, Skye collaborated with famed Japanese video game composer and guitarist Jun Senoue. She sang on his song “Where I Want To Be”, which appeared on his compilation album The Works, released on October 21, 2009.

In 2018, Canadian trap musician Sketch Williams collaborated with Skye on his song “Open Up The Future”. The song has been removed from all streaming sites and YouTube, so “Open Up The Future” can genuinely be classified as Skye Sweetnam lost media right now.

Obviously, every Sumo Cyco fan knows that

Every time Nate gets the opportunity to contribute to a fandom in a larger capacity, he represents it with love flawlessly. He does these iconic songs justice that mean so much to us. As a community, fan animations like this are how we say thank you in return for doing the cool things for us. 💙

Also, I’ve played nearly every Sonic game since I was a kid. My earliest gaming memories are playing City escape on repeat. I love this song so much, I had to make something special to celebrate the anniversary. 🏂

Good luck performing the Sonic Anniversary Live Concert in Tokyo tonight, Nate! @natewantstobtl

Happy birthday, Blue Blur Guy 💙🦔
