New Works by Night Gallery artist Patrick Walsh (JPW3) were recently presented alongside Ry Rocklen with Jupiter at the Independent Art Fair in NYC. Using wood panels and his father’s office pens, Walsh’s latest works developed slowly through sustained acts of drawing that function simultaneously as image, meditation, and record of passing time. Recalling the doodles his mother taught him to make as a child, the paintings oscillate between abstraction and atmosphere, visual noise and moments of monastic stillness. 1: Patrick Walsh, “The Wish”, 2026, ball point pen on panel, 14 x 11 in. 2: Patrick Walsh, “Green”, 2026, ball point pen on panel, 12 x 9 in 3: Patrick Walsh, “The Shadow”, 2026, ball point pen on panel, 12 x 9 in 4: Patrick Walsh, “The People”, 2026, ball point pen on panel, 12 x 9 in Images Courtesy of Jupiter 🖊️🖊️🖊️ #nightgallery @j_p_w_3 #patrickwalsh @jupiterinch_

Join contemporary artist Ry Rocklen (@ryrocklen) at the JUPITER (@jupiterinc_) as he discusses his work at their Independent booth. (@independent_hq) Rocklen works primarily in sculpture, and is known for “imbuing the mundane with theatricality, absurdity, and grace. By extrapolating objects from their familiar contexts, Rocklen renders them poetic” (ARTSY). #contemporaryceramics #ceramicart #contemporaryart #mocany #ceramicsculpture — Our ceramic highlights from Independent are coming soon—subscribe to our newsletter (link in bio) to stay updated.

In a moment steeped in digital consumption, Joe Zucker’s work—meticulously constructed and deliciously handmade—satisfies a growing hunger for tactility and physical presence. His material engagement feels newly vital today, inviting viewers to consider the meaning embedded in the process itself—the political charge inherent in the very act of artistic creation. This week at Independent 20th Century, Jupiter will exhibit works by the prolific postwar American painter, recognized for his conceptually driven practice and relentless material experimentation. “My paintings are about the process of painting… It’s a blue-collar, proletarian approach.”—Joe Zucker Part of Zucker’s sash-cord series, ‘Drifting Hulk of the Doomed Whaler,’ is on view at Independent 20th Century this week in a presentation from @JupiterInc_. The work touches on the issues of the relationship between the process of painting and the meaning and use of materials. “Zucker has explored…using sash cord, pegboard, and cardboard as concrete analogies for drawing…Within this matrix of squares he poured colored acrylic to create the image.”—Carroll Dunham Images: Joe Zucker, ‘Drifting Hulk of the Doomed Whaler,’ 1986, acrylic, cord, and wood; archival portrait of the artist, courtesy of Jupiter. #Independent20c #JoeZucker

In Miami Beach, Jupiter exhibits ‘Naïve and Sentimental,’ an exploration of works by Yirui Jia that traces the emotional texture of her summer travels through Europe. The paintings drift between the naïve and the sentimental, blending natural and artificial forms into compositions that feel both observed and imagined. Marking a shift in Jia’s practice, this series introduces floating figures, playful distortions, and a subtle balance between abstraction and figuration. Each work becomes an immersive reflection on memory and perception, capturing the fragile and poetic state of transformation. Yirui Jia ‘Naïve and Sentimental’ March 30 – June 7, 2025 1217 71st Street, Miami Beach, FL @yirui_jia @jupiterinc_
