Whewww y’all… we are still hollering at what our mentee Jala said during her testimony at the Bee the Difference 5th Year Gala! 😂😭

It was one of those moments that had the whole room laughing, crying, and nodding in agreement at the same time.

What she said was hilarious—but the truth behind it was powerful. 🥹 💛🐝

SN: Shout out to our cook @wowdy52 🤣🤣

💫Senior Highlight of the Day 💫

Help us celebrate our amazing senior, Jala Friday!

Jala is a graduating senior at Madison Central High School, and she’ll be walking the stage on May 17th! She’s been a part of Bee the Difference for the past 5 years, and we’ve had the honor of watching her grow into the confident, faith-filled young woman she is today.

This fall, she plans to attend Holmes Community College to earn her Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and then transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to complete her Bachelor’s in Nursing with a minor in Psychology. Her ultimate goal is to become a Pediatric Nurse!

Jala’s reflections:

• “My favorite memory has got to be the waterpark trip. It was so much fun seeing everyone’s personalities outside of the meeting room!”

• “Bee the Difference helped me grow into the woman I am today and encouraged me to take a leap of faith outside of my comfort zone.”

• “To the younger mentees: It’s okay to stand up for yourself. Don’t let people dictate you. You know who you are and what you can accomplish — so prove it by doing even more!”

Jala, your courage, heart, and determination are so inspiring. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished and excited for all that’s ahead. Keep going — the world needs what you carry!
