The acts at Music Mazza!

What a way of bringing different genres in one roof: Acappella to Gospel to Choral.

We might need to make a return with an early Mazza next year.

Music Mazza! This is what we put together on the 5th of September! The aim was to bring different worlds of music into one room: Acappella, Choral & Gospel. We will ways thrive to bring different genres into one room because the common denominator is the love of music so why not combine the different worlds for an experience?!

Short clip of how it went last week!
Very grateful to @siyathephotographer for compiling the event through the lens 📷.

Thank you to the line up: @just6official @quavavocalgroup @chosen_sg

We are so grateful for the support and the turn out! We hope to see you at the next one! Who knows which worlds of music we will be combining next😁🎵

SIX VOICES. NO INSTRUMENTS.

Two-time Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble @just6official brings their Afro-Vocal Play to Jazz at Jozi Gold this Saturday, 12 September — and it's unlike anything else on the Joburg jazz calendar right now.

No band. Every bass line, beat, harmony and horn flourish comes from six human voices alone.

Born in a bathroom (for the acoustics 👀), Just 6 has since taken their sound across Africa and Europe, picking up two Grammy nominations along the way.

Catch @usmokolo @rashxperience
@skwaraonsax @just_hospa @fezilef
@nkosiehospas live at 81 De Korte Street, Braamfontein — once home to Johannesburg's legendary Orbit jazz club, now bringing live jazz back to the neighbourhood.

Jazz at Jozi Gold has quietly become the Saturday night Braamfontein's been missing. Don't sit this one out.

Just 6 is a premier two-time Grammy-nominated South African vocal ensemble redefining a cappella through their signature style, Afro-Vocal Play. Blending contemporary Jazz, Pop, and RnB with traditional African rhythms, the six-member group creates a full-bodied sonic experience where every drum kick, bass line, and horn section is crafted entirely by voice.
What began as rehearsals in a bathroom for its natural acoustics has evolved into an internationally acclaimed act, with performances across Europe and Africa and recognition on some of the world’s most respected stages.

Six voices.

No bass.
No drums.
No piano.
No horn section.

And somehow, an entire band.

Just 6 bring their Afro-Vocal Play to Jazz at Jozi Gold on 12 September, turning the human voice into rhythm section, harmony, bass line and everything in between.

The South African ensemble has already appeared on two Grammy-nominated arrangements.

Now that technique enters one of Johannesburg jazz’s most memory-heavy rooms: 81 De Korte Street, the former home of The Orbit.

How much music can six voices make?

Saturday night in Braamfontein should answer that.
