Words can’t describe how PROUD AND HONORED we are to know Jheremi And help him through his beautiful and resilient journey! Jheremi joined Pure Heart Foundation when he was 13 years old and was Pure Heart first male scholar. Jheremi would sit in Pure Heart first office that was all of 400 sq ft with our Founder @sherellehogan, His mom would drop him off after school, He would be on one side doing homework and Ms. Hogan would be on the other side developing PH. Ms. Hogan didn’t have much to offer Jheremi at the time, but to him, her time, her listening ear and support was enough for him. Our Founder describes Jheremi in a way that makes it difficult to articulate without crying 😢, because Jheremi was a Black boy at the time who had, at one point, both of his parents incarcerated. He felt alone, misunderstood and to society was seen as a target to keep the cycle of incarceration going. OH, BUT here He is now, A Black Young Man who defied all odds stacked against him and kept the promise he made to himself which was attending college and NOT prison! He walked across the stage as a HS graduate with honors, Entrepreneur and guess what, he’s NEVER been entangled in criminal justice system. He broke the cycle!!! It is critical that children experiencing parental incarceration receives support that will ensure they have a fair chance to be successful, sustained and most importantly not forgotten. When you think of A Cycle Breaker- Don’t forget to mention His name! We are so proud of you, Jheremi!!! Jheremi asked, His mentor and our founder @sherellehogan to be apart of his senior pictures! #Impact #pureheartfoundation #evidencebased #Nonprofit 📷 @samdavisstudioportraits 🎥 clips @koryewoods
