The Art Parade, LA!!!

Dear @lacma and @jeffreydeitchgallery, and all the staff, crew, relatives, neighbors, and fans,

What an incredible event on Saturday, June 20th 2026,
#TheArtParade, and the opening of the #DavidGeffenGalleries at LACMA.

The date marks the transition leading into our Summer Solstice, bringing into awareness abundance, fertility, renewal, at the peak of light in our longest day, connecting with nature and the cosmos,
woohoo!!!!

In the words of our event director @emlytptn, Wilshire Boulevard came alive with color, movement, and creativity, all because 1,654 artists came together to make this parade an unforgettable experience. Never before had the museum grounds housed so many people at the same time, when 54,974 Angelenos descended on LACMA and Wilshire Boulevard.

The Art Parade represents the very best of what LACMA aims to offer Los Angeles: a place where art belongs to everyone.

And thank you @zara_sarina for coordinating the artists behind the scenes from the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery team :)

Our project was,
“Gallery-On-The-Bike with Tom Franco”
The concept was to have a traveling gallery on a bicycle, bringing the museum gallery display to the street, which is a play on the phenomenon of bringing street art into the gallery. The artwork on the bicycles is purposefully fragile and vulnerable, but at the same time accessible and not treated as precious. While the connection with the community is the priority, the artwork will still be of value, and worth looking at. Artists will each be on a custom built bike with original artworks.

🌀🌞🌀So grateful to be ringing in the chimes of summer and celebrating the opening of the new @peterzumthorarchitecture building at @lacma by participating in the LACMA Art Parade in collaboration with @jeffreydeitchgallery , all the artist that participated, the 59,000+ people who came out to support the happening, @eastwestbank.us , and @metro.art.la

A super big thank you to @sqm_arthistorian and my wife @d.midori for helping activate Cycle of the Chimes (2026), a bicycle-powered sound performance celebrating movement, community, and the resonance of the city!

The Firehouse Art Collective and Friends celebrated On-The-Bike-Gallery with Tom Franco at the LACMA Art Parade on Saturday. 1550 artists participated in an Art Parade honoring the opening of the Geffen Gallery at LACMA. Over 50,000 people viewed the circuit of artists performing and bringing art into the street. Jeffrey Dietch Gallery cosponsored this event which he debuted in New York City years ago. The creativity exploded and the deep Southern California talent and diversity shined. A Block Party, interactive activities and a free museum day rounded out the event.
