Today is a weird one. Come 4pm, the last service at Bar Meridian will be in full swing. Bar Meridian has been my second home for over a year. It's been my favorite place to work, ever. I often feel out of place or uncomfortable or like I can't be myself at basically every job I've ever had, and this little corner bar has been such a perfect fit for me that I've never had to give those feelings a second thought there. Like a lot of people in the hospitality world, I fell into bartending sort of by accident, and I've never looked back. Bar Meridian has let me stretch my skills, expand my network many times larger than I thought it would ever be, and develop a real relationship with a local clientele that I genuinely love. I'm going to miss this place so, so, so much. It's going to be hard not rolling out of bed tomorrow to go set up the bar. Thank you @evolegas for having me on and giving me so much freedom and trust within your project, thank you @dooming_onion for being an absolute rock and pleasure to learn from, and thank you @heathosaurusrex for helping breathe such amazing new life into the space this year.
