At last night's @melaninmunch.colorado meet up, we made vision boards for 2026. 2025 was a year of extreme change for me, when I let go of all the things that didn't fill my spirit and align with my growth. I also fully pulled down my walls for the people who have become the embodied definition of what love is to me. They showed me, through consistent action and intentionality, what true care and tenderness was, and showed me I could become resilient in a soft way, rather than hardening to withstand things. My heart sometimes feels like it could burst with how amazing this new life is growing to be with my core loves at the center.

I have so much love to give, now that I'm not chasing it from people who could never give it in the way I want and need it — which is the kind of love that is an action.

You'll notice that my vision board has room. And that's because I envision a year where there are more loves that I can share my life with. More people who want to nurture and care for each other in the kind of love that supports, not just when it's easy, but also when tensions are high, call ins are necessary, and when we have to have difficult conversations and do repair. The kind that doesn't disappear or pull away or avoid conflict, but leans in and chooses to engage thoughtfully so that our connection can mature and grow. The kind that understands I'm on a journey towards a healed self, and doesn't require me to mask and pretend I'm farther in that journey than I am, but allows me to be radically honest about my feelings and is willing to hold space for them, regardless of how ridiculous they are, recognizing that I can't heal from them in isolation and holding them IS the first step in healing. And the kind that makes my heart feel like it could explode when they look at me and I know they truly see and love me not for my potential, but for who I am today, flaws and trauma responses included.

I'm ready to love people in this way, now that my core loves have shown me how. Taking applications, inquire within. A piece of paper on a metal refrigerator. The paper has illustrations of three individuals and glued on hearts. Stamped text at the bottom says The kind of love that is an action

Happy Divorce / House Warming Party day to me! I had a wonderful time having my first party and ordering my first cake ever to celebrate the recent changes in my life. And even let Parker convince me to let them hold me off the ground for the photo op. Lol. (It didn't take all that much convincing, but there were squeaks and tiny screeches involved)

This is the year of the Wood Snake, and I'm glad I have this community of lovely loves to help me through all this growth and change. ❤️ Photograph of five individuals (Vince, Parker, Mike, Moss, and Juan in front) holding Chris up, who is horizontal in the air

So she wanted ONE stuffed animal to cuddle. Next thing I knew her bed was filled with all her homies. But at least she’s cuddling the cat #catladyintraining🐱 #momcaysayno
