Just A Chat were there for me the last few years and played a foundation building role of support to me as I began HIMYM. They watched my idea grow and advised me when I needed it. A true listening ear and a hand on my shoulder with no agenda but to help and support.

They honoured me with a special recognition award this month and donated £500 to support our projects. My heart is full, thank you so much 💕

We were delighted to attend the @justachatni annual awards night on Saturday evening. We are proudly partnered with Just a Chat to offer mental health support to our students. Every year they hold an event to highlight some of the remarkable people who have volunteered or otherwise supported the charity in their work, as well as to acknowledge the journeys taken by some of the participants who have come to the charity seeking support themselves.

Keep up the great work, Just a Chat! Huge thanks to Conor, Amy and the team for a lovely evening.

What a brilliant first night for The STIG Social at The Food House 💙

A huge thank you to MENtality and Just A Chat for coming along to support, and to everyone who joined us for some food, a cuppa and a chat ❤️

We were delighted to provide the food and a space to connect, talk & unwind, exactly what The STIG Social is all about!

A great first night, with plenty more to come! 🙌🏼

So apparently this is known as my 'Award-Winning Jumpsuit' now, and I'm not mad at it 😂

Unbelievably shocked, humbled, privileged, thankful, and proud to win the @justachatni Special Recognition Award this weekend! 🏆

Thank you Conor, Jack, and Billy for recognising the hard work, early mornings, and late nights that have gone into supporting Just A Chat this year! But Amy, you ruined my makeup! Tiny tears came out again; listening to your kind words will stay with me forever. It was hard to believe you were talking about me, as sometimes you forget the daily struggle because it becomes the norm. Thank you for your recognition of all my hard work, success, awards and titles with @internationalunitedmiss @iumunitedkingdom the past year as Ms. Northern Ireland, your support made all the difference! Crown or no crown, awards or no awards, I am continuing to help, support, promote, and truly be HEROIC 🩵

I don't volunteer for the awards (although the recognition is always amazing to receive); I do it to help people, to push myself, to raise awareness of causes close to my heart, and to support those in a way I would like to be supported! 🩷💚🖤

Massive congratulations to all the JAC 2026 Winners and thank you to @the_corner_house_bar for having us again 🍾

Tonight I received received special recognition for contributions in the community and HIMYM has a £500 donation to help with leaving no mum behind.

The recognition really does need to go to the wonderful team Just A Chat - Amy and Conner are saving lives in our local community and have been a massive support to HIMYM in many ways.

The special recognition doesn’t stop there. The mummies who bring this community to life and give their time and support to it are our beating heart.

From my heart to yours - thank you and I can’t wait to see what another year brings us all 💕

One for the lads💪 If you’ve been struggling with your mental health and want a safe place to join and support others, this is for you.

Just a Chat is an incredible group set out to help open up the discussion of mental health which so often gets looks over when it comes to men.

The Men’s Room will be in AMAVI this Wednesday 7-9pm, at the end of the day it’s just a chat, no pressure🖤

And we’re back! ⚽️

The boys take a road trip away to Craigavon in hopes of a victory against Just A Chat FC!

The lads are a community-driven mental health charity who’s main aim is to break the stigma and provide support for those facing challenges with mental health. All proceeds from the game will go towards supporting this objective 💚

If you’re about the area feel free to come and watch the lads. No doubt it’ll be action packed from the first to the final whistle 🙌 ⚽️

PART 1. LISTEN TO ME - THE CHAIRS ARE EMPTY.
It is morning time again. We've just gotten through the night. We are tired. We are exhausted. We are weary. We are losing hope. But we are still here. We replayed the things happening in our lives that were deliberate, that hurt us, that we were exposed to. There was no escape but we were looking for respite and an escape from the world to recover. Nowhere was open. Out of business hours were not favourable to us. We found ourselves alone. Sometimes we faced the A&E saga. Other times we were not fit to sit on hard chairs all night just to be told at shortly after the 8am handover to new staff that we will be referred for another assessment and we need to prove we actually want help. Yes it is true. This was said to us. The desperation was very, very real in the night time hours. The fear we would lose Seán to death put the fear of God in me that I couldn't leave him alone. I am referring to the death of his belief that someone cared. He was not going to give up. But the truth was the journey to freedom was almost impossible alone. Seán needed support. I needed support. It was not much to ask. But it was a fact that we couldn't get it. And that made me sad because I was afraid of the outcome. It made me angry because every now and again we'd meet someone who didn't lift their head from their wee page of questions. Questions that were not relevant to us, the service user, presenting in front of this particular professional. A professional lacking the care and kindness that is largely essential for the job. I knew Seán's potential. HE knew his potential. The future was within our grasp. We just needed a bridge. Our table was overflowing with the dreams and plans for Seán's future. For my future. But the chairs were always empty. And now Seán's chair is permanently empty. My heart is broken. His chance is gone. I will take my questions straight to the top of the power pyramid. Let's hope, those can will make these changes and will do something and...

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, and it’s a day that means a lot to us at the Cowboys.

In Northern Ireland, 230 of the 290 people who died by suicide in 2024 were men. That’s 79.3%.

Those aren’t just statistics. They are people, families, friends, teammates and communities.

As a club, we want to help create an environment where looking after each other isn’t just something we do on the field.

Sometimes it starts with a simple conversation.

“How are you doing?”

And actually listening to the answer.

That’s why we’re proud to be working alongside Just A Chat, helping promote the importance of talking, connecting and looking out for the people around us.

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need to have all the answers.

Sometimes, being there and giving someone the space to talk can make a difference.

So today, check in with your mates. Your teammates. Your family. The person who maybe hasn’t seemed themselves lately.

Ask. Listen. Talk.

And if you’re struggling, please don’t keep it to yourself. Reach out to someone you trust or contact a support service like @justachatni

Also keep a look out on their socials as they announce new Men’s rooms across different areas!
