New lighting work 💡
I recently worked as the Gaffer for the first music video by musician @itsruetoyou . I collaborated with the incredibly talented DOP Billy Abbott to create a lighting look inspired by the Tarantino films, hazy 70s style, using warm tones throughout and keeping Rue constantly in the spotlight. To add contrast, I included some cooler light, but overall, it was a great exercise in balancing ambient fixtures with larger controlled sources. I'm really proud of how it turned out, especially considering the tight schedule we had to work with. Big thanks to my spark Aidan clambering through windows!

The fixtures we used were: a 300d with a 19-degree spotlight, an f22c as the primary key, a snooted Forza 200, a Forza 300 for ambient fill, a Forza 60 as a topper, four pavo tubes for fill and an MC Pro as an eye light.

A vision is coming 👀 Director Alexandre Do on the release of “Vision of Me” —

“This song made me think of how hard it is to change as a person, how we usually fall back to our own habits.

I wanted to see hundreds of clones of James, past versions of him who all do the same thing in an immovable routine.

Making this music video was a real feat, but I am ecstatic seeing it on screen and so thankful to all the people who believed in us and the idea.”

The origins of a story are often the most intriguing part

With Wool, the screenplay started as a factual story of a charming boyfriend who suddenly turns controlling when the relationship becomes official

After 3 or 4 drafts Dympna wanted to get down to the essence of coercive control and her ex-lecturer Simon Bovey, accomplished screenplay writer with many radio plays broadcast on BBC, knowing her penchant for having minimal dialogue, challenged her to write Wool with absolutely no dialogue

This was in the summer of 2020. The script was entered to three competitions (calling it Yarn for the US market) and was commended in all of them.

Where have your ideas started out, and where did they end up?
