POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It’s round two of the first Monoki Stank Face Challenge.

THE RULES:

We pick 3 songs each and play them to try and make our opponent pull a stank face (or any other face for that matter). If we succeed we get a point.

My contender is Naoto from @juicymusiclab who is dedicated to hunting out and sharing the very best new music from around the globe, especially if it’s from an unsigned artist.

Naoto’s pick: Chivalry Ain’t Dead - Gemaine (@justgemaine )

My pick: End Of Time - Olive Jones (@olivejonesmusic )

Many thanks to the wonderful Peter Martin and Adam Maness from You’ll Hear It podcast for inspiring the idea (@youllhearitpod )

Hit follow so you don’t miss part three.

And if you think you have what it takes to beat me in the Stank Face Challenge, get in touch - I dare you.

…

I’m Paul Mumford. I’ve been messing about in the music industry since I was 16.
These days I make films, tell stories and help musicians get noticed.
This is MONOKI.

Yes. That’s the title. Yes 😂 unorthodox & noticeably lengthy in regard to album titles, but the title also serves as a prayer and a statement of affirmation for me & hopefully now for you as well. This collection of songs is very special to me because of where my love for music began, gospel. Growing up in church & developing my personal multilayered issues with “religion” and some of the individuals who may have tainted my perspective, while simultaneously developing & exploring my relationship with God & his word has been an ongoing journey. I’ve always felt a connection with our higher power & I knew that light inside of me was from a source beyond my comprehension. My intention is NOT to preach, or isolate anyone. But I have mimic my pops (RIP) & tell you “if I know one thing I know God is real” I have to admit I haven’t always stepped up to be an example of that & I didn’t like the uncomfortable feeling I had about putting myself out there in such a vulnerable way, so I chose to lean into that. As I’m blessed to spend more time on this earth I gain more understanding about how dangerous comfort can be. I’ve been doing music for a LONG time now & anyone following my journey knows it’s been a blast. But for much longer I’ve been a child of God & I felt the need to not only express it but to celebrate that with you. My prayer is that this music touches whoever needs it & the songs fall on the ears of those who may have something to gain. I really just hope it makes you smile ☺️

Thank you to my brother, my family, loved ones, & every incredible creative that contributed to this body of work. I love & appreciate each one of you. Thank you in advance to everyone & anyone supporting & showing love. Thank you to my mom for being my biggest inspiration, this album is dedicated to you.

ALTERMIND VOL. II • DAY 2
II class w/ @fabrizio_urso 🫀
