Today was one of those days that every parent knows is coming, but nothing truly prepares you for it.

We dropped off our oldest son, Justice Moore, at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to begin an exciting new chapter of his life.

As I watched him unpack his room and walk across campus, my heart was overflowing with pride, gratitude, and love… while also breaking a little inside. I already miss him more than words can say.

Justice, you have grown into an incredible young man. Your faith, your character, your kindness, your leadership, and your determination have always made us proud. Watching you pursue your dreams is one of the greatest privileges of being your mom.

This day was especially emotional because it’s the first major family milestone since my sweet mom went to be with Jesus. I couldn’t help but think about how proud she would have been to see her grandson beginning this journey. I know she would have been smiling from heaven, cheering you on, and praying for you just as she always did.

Life has a way of reminding us that joy and grief can exist in the same moment. Today we celebrated a beautiful beginning while deeply feeling the absence of someone we love so much.

Justice, always remember who you are and whose you are. Keep God at the center of everything you do. Stay humble, work hard, love people well, and never stop pursuing the purpose God has for your life.

No matter how far life takes you, home will always be here, and my love for you will never change.

Congratulations on this incredible new chapter. We are beyond proud of you, and I can’t wait to see all that God has planned for your life.

Fly high, son. Your dreams are just beginning, and I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. I love you more than you’ll ever know. ❤️💜🙏
