@negroniweek brought a little Jakarta to KL as @hats.bar took over @jwc.cabinet8.kl last week, bringing back our prodigal daughter @demitria_ramona, accompanied by @saji_sadili.

HATS Bar is known for drinks that draw on Indonesian references and most importantly, Demi’s pastry background which is featured in their playful cocktails and sorbet creations.

Together, they rocked up three Campari-based drinks including their Negroni competition drink, OR: Our Red, with a cheeky chocolate stick nod to Gudang Garam.

#barhoppingokk #50bestdiscovery
#asias50best #50bestbars

Terrace 🇭🇰✨

Indoor 🇲🇾✨

🇲🇾🤝🏻🇭🇰✨

@Papuwa. Interior Lighting

Culinary Cocktail

Meet the flavor hunters behind Cabinet 8 KL! 🇲🇾🥃 This Thursday we’re handing over the Terrible Baby bar to two of Kuala Lumpur’s finest mixology minds for a one-night-only sensory takeover.

Behind the bar, you’ll find self-taught “flavor hunter” Justin Tay, who is obsessed with twisting classic traditions using unexpected Malaysian ingredients, alongside award-winning industry veteran Sam Yap, who honed his craft at legendary spots like ThreeXco and Coley before joining Cabinet 8 KL. Together, this dynamic duo blends modern mixology with deep local storytelling to bring you a menu that is as bold as it is soulful.

They’re shaking up four exclusive creations for one night only, starting with the botanical and crisp Green Day featuring No.3 Gin, coriander, and cucumber, and the refreshing Pu-Er Fizzy which pairs The Glenrothes 15 Year Old with mint and earthy tea. For a taste of the tropical, Nyonya Jungle blends Highland Park 12 Year Old with jackfruit and pineapple, while the rich and savory Cacao Island combines The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old with Valdespino Vermouth, cacao nibs, and a touch of olive brine.

These drinks are only here for one night. Grab your ticket at the link in bio for a sweet discount and to lock in your tasting flight of all 4 cocktails! 🎟️✨

I’ve been watching Chengdu’s bar scene getting more and more interesting, so being here for the very first Chengdu Cocktail Fest feels pretty special.

Good bars. Good people. Guest shifts. A little too much drinking. 🤭
Basically… exactly how a cocktail festival should begin.

Chengdu, let’s see what you’ve got. 🥃✨

Heyyy Malay babes 🇲🇾 Join us this September as we welcome Kuala Lumpur’s very own Cabinet 8 KL, taking over the Terrible Baby bar for one night only with @the_macallan @valdespinosherry @highlandparkoffical @theglenrothes @no3gin !

Listed #65 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars list in 2026, Cabinet 8 KL is based in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, known for uncovering unexpected local produce, from wild herbs and foraged roots to forgotten tropical fruits and indigenous aromatics. Their philosophy is rooted in modern bartending techniques like distillation, clarification, and fat-washing, with tea serving as the structural and philosophical backbone of their creations 🤓

Leading the takeover will be Sam Yap and Justin Tay, who will be behind the bar throughout the evening!

Somewhere behind those cabinet doors, another world exists.

Dim lights. Deep reds. A bar hidden in plain sight. Bartenders with stories to tell. And cocktails you probably didn’t expect.

You found the door. Now find your way in.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us. To be recognised as The Best Bar in Malaysia at this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026, sponsored by Perrier is something we never dared to dream of, but always aimed for as a goal. Thank you @50bestbars for the honour — and for placing us at No. 32 in this year’s list. It’s truly humbling to be recognised alongside so many incredible bars on the list.

To our Malaysia bar community — you are so dear to us, and we couldn’t have done this without you. We love you so much!

To our team: thank you for your resilience and your potential. As we always say — let’s continue to be proficient in our roles, genuine with everyone, and tango through every service.

Shout out to @bansotjames @kimchithemusical @joshakingbarder @ming_hao1003 for holding the fort while we were away and @th3whiskycoll3ctor for bringing the team for HDL sans @thebitterboss black card 🤪

See you soon at the bar! 🍸
