Winter gear is moving out and we’ve got some serious in-store deals right now. If you’ve been needing a jacket or something to stay warm on the water, now’s a good time to come dig through it and see what you can find.

At the same time we’re rolling right into spring and the new Scientific Anglers Magnitude lines just hit the shop. I’ve been running these on my guide rods and they’ve been flat out impressive. Smooth casting, clean shooting, and that clear tip is a game changer in our water. Definitely worth checking out if you’re thinking about a new line this season.

Our newest employee @you_found_the_real will be holding it down in Little Rock tomorrow and we’d love to see you. Swing by the shop, see what’s on the racks, and get geared up for spring.

Also, we’ll be set up at the Fly Fishing Film Tour tomorrow in Little Rock. We’ll have some merch with us, doing a little fly tying, and hanging out. Come by and say hey.

I was kayaking on the Little Red River the other day, and I captured this precious moment of a father and son enjoying the beauty of being a family. I beached my kayak, walked up and asked if they would like to have the photo. This is the result! I love things like this. Being able to give someone this kind of memory is just precious. They were extremely grateful!

I added in some photos of other fishermen from my little kayaking day. My new lens is really doing his job! A lot of times, I just want to enjoy my time out in nature, but this was just one of those days where I felt like taking photos. Glad I did!

What a way to end summer! It was fun to see connection happen through great food, inflatables, and plenty of laughter at Family Fun Night. We also had a chance to introduce some of our incredible discipleship group leaders. If you are interested in joining a D-Group, visit our website at fellowshipar.com/groups 🎉

‼️Last week God spoke something to me that broke me.

For YEARS I’ve given God excuses about WHY He couldn’t use me the way he was telling me he wanted to.

I’ve always thought that God chose me IN SPITE of my past…

However, I’ve now realized he chose me BECAUSE OF MY PAST.

He did this so when he accomplishes what he wants to accomplish through me no one can say it’s because of my privileged past or pedigree BUT ONLY BECAUSE OF HIS POWER!

Have more respect for yourself. If people want to be close to you, demand more out of them.

Lemme make something SUPER clear for everyone who is married…

We MUST develop the skill of finding the GOOD things the Lord is doing in our spouse and celebrate those things INSTEAD of reminding them all the time of how they have failed, fallen short, and how they ARE NOT “doing things right”.

When we do this we become our spouses ADVOCATE instead of their ADVERSARY.

Think about what I’m about to tell you for a moment…

One of the many thing the Bible calls the devil is the “accuser of the brethren” (Rev 12)

I submit to you that if you are constantly pointing out your spouses shortcomings and failures that you are partnering with the devil.

Yeah. I know. That’s a pretty broad sweeping statement. I said it that way on purpose because this is a BIG DEAL.

I’m NOT saying that we can not lovingly and gracefully bring things to our spouse that would help them love better and grow in sanctification. I AM saying that this must all be done with the right heart and motives.

Here’s something to try…

Ask your spouse if they feel BUILT UP or BEAT UP during these conversations. This is a simple way to figure out if you are having these conversations in a graceful way or an accusatory way.
