Boston Spaceships - Zero To 99 //
Released 6th October 2009 (GBV Inc.) //

Zero To 99 was Boston Spaceships’ third album in the space of two years.
16 songs, mostly under three minutes each, spanning the “four P’s” with the majority of them leaning towards
power-pop.

This time Bob, Chris Slusarenko and John Moen are joined by some guest musicians including Sam Coomes, Tommy Keene, Scott McCaughey and Peter Buck with Bob’s vocals being recorded by Todd Tobias.

Release notes (via GBVDB.COM):
‘ In 2007, after swearing off ever starting another band and enjoying a successtul solo career for a half-decade since ending Guided By Voices, Robert Pollard was seduced by the comraderie of former Guided By Voices bassist Chris Slusarenko (Takeovers, Svelt, Sprinkler) and John Moen (Perhapst, Decemberists, Stepnen Malkmus & The Jicks, Elliott Smith, Dharma Bums) and launched the Boston Spaceships, putting out two LPs in less than a year.
Now, in 2009, on their third record, Zero To 99, they are primed to seduce fans and critics alike with Pollard’s most relentlessly melodic, hook-laden, pop-punk record since Guided By Voices Alien Lanes almost 15 years ago. ‘

J. (ex-Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Government Issue) is taking a Mojave detour to perform a free, all-ages, solo acoustic show at Yucca Valley’s own Up On The Sun Records on Tues, Sept 29 at 6:30pm!
Save the date, tell yer pals, & c’mon out!
Poster art by the inimitable Chris Bald. Yes, *that* Chris Bald.
Could this gig get any more badass? Gotta show up to find out!

Que el invierno nos traiga calma,
luz en el camino,
y la certeza de que no caminamos solos

May winter bring us calm,
light on the path,
and the certainty that we do not walk alone.
