I’m very drawn to building tone and mood off of facial emotions and production design in a scene.

The process is no secret, but there’s something deeply rewarding about finding the right progression of shots that not only prompt feeling, but allow character behavior to deepen or complicate it. I like to let objects, color, and rhythm set an emotional tone because a character’s presence won’t explain everything. I want it to add questions, tension and a little context.

I really push at manifesting empathy and letting the audience decide if it’s unreliable as character actions, motives, and plot are revealed and spaces are affected. The world often knows something before the camera does. If the story feels unreliable, it’s because the environment hasn’t revealed its full truth yet.

I want to bring the sense that the camera simply arrives and begins learning alongside the audience. This is how I like to build mystery, not by withholding, but by revealing in fragments.

We had a small crew with a lot of heart and a lot of focus!

Making something this intimate took a lot of patience, dedication, care, hard work and trust to carry it from prep and rehearsals, to every set during production, to the voiceover sessions that followed and beyond.

Everyone who touched this film gave it more than just time or skill, they gave it honesty. That makes all the difference.

I’m incredibly thankful for the people that made this and proud of how we made it.

Vincent speaks like someone who believes he’s the one suffering most. But what he’s really doing is re-narrating emotional pain. The lines are a kind of growing hunger. Turning someone else’s fear into material.

He thinks transformation must come from loss. He thinks suffering makes him deeper. He’s convinced himself that his version of the story is the only one that holds weight. That’s how distance justifies itself.

He’s taking more than he gives.

Felt as a confession of inner friction, and an admission that their relationship is locked in emotional loops, both sides trying to hold onto some truth or hope, but it’s costly. It’s a consequence.

His exhaustion doesn’t happen in isolation, it pulls something from her.

VINCENT: An existential writer, obsessive towards his work. Many relationship- and self-sacrifices leading him to be empty inside.

As work distances him, his relationship loses clarity, love lingers in memory, and emotions become harder to access.

Motivated by a need for emotional connection to redeem himself; conflicted by inspiration, often at the expense of those around him.

@justjack____ brought this contradiction to life with restraint, grounding Vincent in searching, and slow unraveling, desperate to stay in tact.

FROM JACK WICKHAM:
"Portraying Vincent required many deep conversations with Livorio about self-awareness, as well as what is required to balance a social life in modern times. I found that Vincent’s imagination was extremely vivid - he’s a poet, a writer, and was constantly testing the boundaries of language. But I learned, it’s also what removed him from connecting in the moment, especially with those who loved him. Drawing parallels from my own life and bookmarking my own realizations were important to connect with Vincent’s character."

A Windshaken Home (Late Autumn) is a psychological drama about isolation, memory, guilt and exploring the emotional landscape of a relationship losing its foundation.

I’m so grateful to the incredible cast who brought so much heart to every scene, and to the crew who helped turn an idea into something real.

Can’t wait to share more as we head into festival season.

Thanks for being here.
