#WalkMS2025 recap. tldr; heart’s full.

I had a lil moment when we first pulled up and saw the crowd. I’ve often resisted spaces like this—support groups, awareness events, even safe spaces where I know it’s ok to disclose—because … idk, it can be heavy. Not necessarily my experience of MS, but people’s reactions to it. I felt that way when I went to my first @weareillmatic #WellnessWeekend. Scared to walk in the room because I didn’t want pity or sympathy or to see glimpses of what life could look like later.
.
But y’all. Every time I go to those spaces, and every time I look, it’s actually pretty great. I see people like me and unlike me, showing up defiant and joyful and enveloped in love and community. We’re making it work. We got people. And that’s everything.
.
I have some reeeaaalllyy good people in my corner. The type to wake up early on a Saturday morning and walk in the Georgia heat just to say “I see you. I’m here.” The type to spend money IN THIS ECONOMY supporting an organization (@mssociety) that helped me SO much when I was adjusting to the way my life was changing. The type to also follow me to the #HandsOff protest and walk, in more heat, to show that WE ARE NOT OKAY with wtF is happening to our world and our planet.

It’s good. I’m glad I went today and I’m glad I “looked”. I’m glad I said all this out loud. I think it’ll make the next time(s) easier. And if you’ve got questions, or words of support, or an auntie with MS, or any of that, I wanna know.

Just know that today I was surrounded by love and had a good ass time b-boppin thru the streets with good people who’ve still got enough in the tank to spend a lil love on me.✌🏽🧡

Didn’t know what to expect going into 2023, but I know one thing I needed to push me through it, my people. Won’t go into full details, but when I look through the lows and highs of this year. I realized I experienced and overcame a lot because of the people in my corner. Creating memories, space and encouraging me.

So I guess, I dedicate this year to my people. I love y’all like crazy and can’t thank y’all enough. There’s a lot of y’all not in these photos and I wish I had more pictures, but I’m gonna change that.

Because I’m definitely gonna need y’all next year and the years to come 🫶🏾🥹. As long as I got my community, I’m beyond ready for 2024.
