2026 Banana Bowl Champions

What a year. Through every high, every low, and every moment that tested us, we kept finding a way. We stayed together, embraced being the Junkyard Dawgs, and finished as CHAMPIONS.

Beyond grateful to be a part of the Texas Tailgaters and share this season with these boys. The memories, the battles, and the bond we built are things I’ll carry forever.

To the fans, my family, friends, and everyone who supported us along the way—thank you. For showing up, believing in us, and sticking with us through the ups and downs. You helped make this season special, and this championship belongs to you, too.

A lot of people don’t know this about me but I’ve never won a championship. In pro ball I got a few rings but I was never there for the big moment.

In 14 years of competitive baseball here is my road to glory:

High School Era:

2013: freshman b!tch boy on varsity. Didn’t play a lick all season
2014: missed playoffs and blew out my elbow mid season and couldn’t play (I was 15 at the time)
2015: missed playoffs
2016: lost first playoff game

College Era:

2017: missed playoffs
2018: missed playoffs
2019: missed playoffs

Pro Ball Era:

2019: missed playoffs
2020: …yup
2021: torn hip labrum. Missed half of season. Came back and missed playoffs
2022: high A south bend cubs win championship. I wasn’t there. I was in Tennessee where we made it all the way to the championship and lost. I got us there in the semi playoffs but never played in the championship series.
2023: AAA missed playoffs (very hard to win a AAA championship because one league has 10 teams and the other has twenty. Not to mention turnover is nuts)
2024: AAA missed playoffs

I actually started thinking that maybe we’re not winning because I was the problem. Whether it’s true or not, at this point I was just in it for myself.

2025: played at all levels except the Big Leagues and every team I was on lost in the playoffs.

Banana Ball Era:

2026: BANANA BOWL CHAMPION!!!

There’s a reason I collapsed to my knees when we won. I couldn’t believe it. All that work had finally paid off.

To everyone that I’ve ever played with, worked with, or had the pleasure of meeting through this game… Thank you ā¤ļø

Some of you aren’t here anymore. But in one way or another, you were all right there with me. šŸ’™šŸ§”

Hard to put this into words. We showed up for each other all season, through the chaos and the grind, and it turned into something historic. Proud doesn’t even cover it.

Thank you to this team, this organization , and every fan who made this season feel like family. Champions #TYJ

I usually don’t get emotional on here but today is going to be a little bit different…

When I got the call to be part of the Texas Tailgaters and Bananaball I uprooted my whole life and got down to Savannah Georgia in a matter of days. I had no idea what to expect or how I was going to fit in being as I was a late addition to the team. The first couple weeks came with a lot of self judgement and sacredness that I wasn’t going to mesh with the culture that had been created here already. But boy I could not have been more wrong.

As the season went on these guys (and girl) showed me more love and support than I could have ever imagined. From allowing me to be myself to treating me like I’ve been there since day 1 it felt like as the season went we just kept getting closer and closer. Every single person on this team has helped me become a better player, and more importantly a better person and I appreciate every single person on this team more than they know.

My life has been far from perfect with my parents divorcing at a young age, to my mom passing away when I was 12 and my dad passing away when I was 20. It always felt like something bad was going to happen to me or everyone around me. But this team has showed me otherwise. No matter how hard the season got or how many injuries we had, there was always some fight left in the tank. It didn’t matter what the situation was there was no complaining, just doing. That stuck with me. This team showed me that no matter how low you are you always have a chance as long as you fight.

This team fought hard all year and I could not have been more proud of this group of teammates. I can confidently say I have met some of the greatest people and met some of my greatest friends on this team and I don’t take a single one of them for granted. It has been a surreal experience playing with the Texas Tailgaters and I couldn’t imagine a better ending than winning the whole thing.

Thank you for not only bringing me in and making me feel like family, but thank you for saving me from my own thoughts and showing me what it is to truly fight if you believe in something.

- This year has been the greatest blessing I never knew I needed, and I’m so incredibly thankful for the people around me that made it happen! Can’t wait to see what the future holds with this amazing group of people. Never could I have imagined I would get the experience a night like the one that took place in DC this weekend. I’ll continue putting my faith in the Lord and seeing where life goes!!
