Great summer for Unity Jersey City . Summers are great, everyone is outside, we were outside too, we competed together, won and lost together, went partying together, ate together and many hangouts together, this summer we created memories, every single member of our school is so important for our growth, thanks to every single of you that supported us and have been supporting us! Choreo: @zojea Song: no clue but love it Honestly they tell you , you are supposed to go into class with a goal and my goal was choreo retention and honestly I failed in this class but hey I learned early that “if at first you don’t succeed..try try again” I will continue to train and continue try and eventually I will master my goals. I videotape to learn what’s going on in the moment not to obsess over the mistakes or to post, I tend to dance small when I am not Confident in what I know which is ironic because I am a women of confidence and my entire fitness brand is built of confidence. But in class I am hard on myself because I know the potential I have to be great and I am not there yet. It’s as if I look the part but I haven’t master how to BE the part yet, it’s a certain level of confidence and relax that I have yet to achieve when I am in a class. Its the over thinker in me, the protectionist in me. Ive learned… What goes on in the mind will get translated into your dance. I am working hard to get out of my head and instantly fall in love with every piece I learn. I got frustrated at the end of this class and had to redirect my energy and thoughts. I am proud of me, because there is progress just not at the pace I want it to be. If you made it this far ! Please follow 🥰🫶🏾 I really appreciate it. Love this piece, I hope it is taught again in the new year🖤 Ps. I use my DJI Osmo Pocket 3 for filming. Its an amazing little vlogging camera 🎥 10/10 recommend for good quality videos however transferring footage from camera to phone is annoying. It drains your battery hardcore and if the footage is long it takes a bit. It’s been 1 year on the mats… Some people don’t understand why i joined this sport and how i keep going. Let me tell you how his sport has changed my life, as cheesy as that sounds. I’ll say i gained interest in this sport when i enrolled the boys in it when they were younger and planned to do classes at their first gym, but i was pregnant with Charlie and while she was a baby, my thoughts of joining for myself dissipated. Here we are about 8 years later, on the course to trying to find myself again, mend what has been broken, take back what was taken…i wanted an outlet for my children and for myself. Never would i have imagined how i would fall in love with a contact sport such as this. I’ve always been one to go the harder route, testing my limits (giving birth 3x naturally with no drugs whatsoever), but I’ve lost sight of the power i had. The strength I’ve always held inside. Here, this sport gives me back my power. Here, the mat silences the noise. Here, i am humbled time and time again that i can be beaten but can always come back up. I’ve gained so much from since I’ve joined @unityjiujitsu_jerseycity. I’ve joined a community of amazingly inspiring and kind people, gained the most confidence in myself I’ve ever felt in life, a better quality of life (although i wake up with new pains everyday 😅). The once thing that sticks out the most though, has been the lesson “you can get through REALLY tough/tight situations and you are tough AF!” How much i need that lesson echoed in this current season in my life is exactly when i need it the most. Thank you to all the coaches for having faith in me and helping me advance my training especially @rafaelbabiloniajj and @bjjliz for the tough love and guidance in this sport, for encouraging me to go harder and inspiring me always. To all my training mates (so many of my fave rolls i don’t have pics with 😓), thank you for pushing me to be better and allowing me to work moves when i seem stuck. You all have been such an inspiration for me to push harder and keep training! I love this community so much and I’m so thankful i found a place with you all! 💕 To many more rounds!!! LFGGGG OSSSSS 🔥
