Some of the most important conversations about leadership, advocacy, and community happen in spaces people least expect — including sports.

Sports have always been bigger than the game, bringing people together and shaping culture in powerful ways. That’s part of why this evening in DC meant so much to me, in a city where so much of my career in public service and communications took off and where I learned one of the most important lessons of leadership: real change never happens in silos.

We make change when everyone is at the table — public, private, nonprofit, community, and industry leaders all working together to move people and communities forward. That’s the kind of leadership and coalition-building I’ve spent my career doing, and it’s exactly why I’m ready for this next chapter of service.

Special love to my Forever 44/46 family for showing up and showing love. Full circle moments like this are always a reminder that community will remain at the center of everything I do.

To all the Wizards Asst. Coaches past & present during my time covering the team, your time, insight & professionalism through ups & down, will never go unappreciated by me. I thank you all!
