When I got to the glacier lagoon “ Jökulsàrlón” in Iceland, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The air was cold and still, and the icebergs just floated there—massive, silent, almost unreal. I ended up standing for a long time, watching the light shift on the water. No crowds, no noise—just the quiet power of nature doing its thing. It wasn’t dramatic, just quietly powerful. One of those rare places that makes you slow down without even trying. A moment that really sticks.

📍Stuðlagil Canyon, Iceland

Still in awe of Stuðlagil Canyon 🖤✨

Tucked away in North East Iceland, this place feels like another planet—columns of basalt rising like ancient sculptures, with glacial blue water winding through them.
We wanted to arrive early at this spot to avoid massive crowds. Right at the parking lot the Stuðlafoss Waterfall already welcomed us. Great start.
Then we continued to walk like 45min to the canyon in the left side. Unfortunately, it was kind if cloudy that day which was a pity but better than having rain. The path was kind of muddy in certain sections.
Arriving there it felt unreal. It was quiet, raw, and surreal—nothing like the typical tourist spots. The hike in was worth every step.

Interestingly, the canyon was found first in 2009/2016.

The basalt stone (found in many places and tourist spots in Iceland) makes the tourist attractions even more special. Such formation I have never seen before.

Nature really outdid itself here.

Definitely a place worth visiting!
