This spring my focus has been on curating "Mikro-Kosmos" with @ilarivanhatalo for one of Helsinki's most legit and straight-up art venues, Yö Gallery. We're bringing the magic forest of the most epic Kosmos Festival and recreating it in a gallery setting in the centre of the city. Biggest thank-yous, head nods and bows to @kosmos_festival and @taiteilijayhdistys_yo for making this happen.

The Finnish visual art scene can feel like stuck in its own bubble, struggling to connect with everyday people outside it. And when art has to fight harder than ever just to exist, making culture relevant to all types of people stops being optional.

That's where raving comes back in. To me it always represented collectiveness, a doer mentality, a low threshold for creativity, diversity of thought, and conversations that actually go somewhere, opposites getting along. Softness in communication and hedonism in form of altruism. Atmosphere we could have some use right now.

Forest parties, bush doofs and warehouse parties has taken a pretty massive chunk of my life and I'm pretty sure I don't regret any of it. Glad to see how it is growing too big for its own boots.

So first of all we wanna introduce you to our new drummer @jj.niemela
While we were looking for a new drummer we went through a few auditions and when Jani came in it was a no brainier, after the first song we already knew he was the guy for this job ⚡⚡
He's been playing already a couple of shows with us so you might've seen him on stage already!
Jani says:
"I've been hammering the drums since 1999, forged by the thunder of Metallica, Slayer and AC/DC. As a teenager I cut my teeth in the local Thrash and Speed Metal pits, and spent my twenties tearing through any stage that would hold still long enough. After a few years away from the metal frontlines, I'm back with sharpened claws and zero intention of holding back. Joining REBELLIX isn’t a return — it’s a reckoning."

So be sure to come to our next shows, don't miss this beast of a drummer 🔥🔥

We achieved everything we set out to achieve in 2023. Now, it's time for a new era of music. Question is... what are 𝘆𝗼𝘂 doing to prepare for it?
