I don’t think people realise that betrayal doesn’t end the day it happens.

It follows you, It shows up in the relationships that come after. It makes you question your intuition & makes you wonder if you’re asking for too much... or not enough. It makes you hesitate before fully trusting someone again.

I’ve experienced betrayal in different forms throughout my life, not just in love but In friendships, In people I thought would never hurt me.

For a long time, I hated what it did to me.

I hated that I became more guarded, that I questioned people’s intentions, that I sometimes expected to be disappointed before anything had even gone wrong.

But healing has taught me something I never expected... Betrayal didn’t change my heart, It changed my standards.

I don’t chase people anymore & I don’t ignore red flags to keep the peace, I don’t people please at the expense of myself either.

I’ve learnt that not everyone deserves access to me & my circle is smaller now, my boundaries are stronger. My peace matters more than being liked.

And while there are moments I wish I’d never experienced the hurt... I also know I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without it.

If you’ve been betrayed, I hope you know this...
You don’t have to become hard & you don’t have to stop believing there are good people.

Just become more discerning about who earns your trust. Because healing isn’t about pretending it never happened.

It’s about refusing to let what broke you decide who you become. For some reason that was on my heart to share with you today xx

We found the best place ever for a ladies lunch on a friday!!

@rainbar_papamoa invited me and my girls to a lunch with the most amazing food and cocktails in the sun. What a way to kick off summer 🌺

They have just launched their Friday sip and snack lunch promo it’s $59 a person (minimum 4 people) it comes with 2 cocktails each and food for all 4 people.

We had the best time and now think this needs to be a Friday ritual for the girls 💁🏽‍♀️
