I had the opportunity to participate in one of @3liemarie ‘s lovely character design challenges! ⭐️✨ The challenge was to design a character based on an ancient relic. It was such a fun and interesting topic to research! I chose Saint Clare of Assisi (swipe for more details about her design at the end). All of the talented artists who participated: @seiji606 - Tilma of St.Juan Diego @im_arc - The Book of Kells @forze.del.male - The Veil of the Virgin Mary @jxneillus - Incorruptible Body of St.Cecilia @lazy.afternoons - St.Clare of Assisi @burnt.tosti - Hope Diamond @3liemarie - Jawbone of St.Anthony Please check out their designs as well, everyone did an amazing job! #characterdesign #digitalart

🌹ℒ𝒶 𝓇𝑜𝓈𝒶 𝒹𝑒 𝒢𝓊𝒶𝒹𝒶𝓁𝓊𝓅𝑒 ⊹ ࣪ ˖ ꫂ ၴႅၴ ₊ ⊹ It’s my birthday today!! Happy birthday to me!!! 🥳✨✨🎂 My piece for relics collab hosted by @3liemarie We’re choosing one relic and design a character based on it. Mine is tilma de san juan diego which the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe has been imprinted. I haven’t been drawing for more than a month and a half. I’m so happy to draw this picture. I’m in love with Mexican culture, archaeology and food for several years. I always want to draw more things related to it. This November I’m also going to @hatsukoi.com.mx which will be my first time in Mexico ever! I’m super excited and can’t wait till that time come!! This art print will be available at the event too. 🫶🌹✨ Follow @seiji606ocs for my OC arts —— Collab Members @seiji606 - Tilma of St.Juan Diego @im_arc - The Book of Kells @forze.del.male - The Veil of the Virgin Mary @jxneillus - Incorruptible Body of St.Cecilia @lazy_afternoons - St.Clare of Assisi @burnt.tosti - Hope Diamond @3liemarie - Jawbone of St.Anthony #hatsukoi #guadalupe #ourladyofguadalupe #mexicanart #catholicart

Relic Character Design Challenge 🏺 I had the absolute pleasure of joining some wonderfully talented artists for this challenge! The challenge: create a character based on a haunted/cursed or just intriguing relic. The artists and their relics: @seiji606 - Tilma of St.Juan Diego @im_arc - The Book of Kells @forze.del.male - The Veil of the Virgin Mary @jxneillus - Incorruptible Body of St.Cecilia @lazy_afternoons - St.Clare of Assisi @3liemarie - Jawbone of St.Anthony @burnt.tosti - Hope Diamond (Me) There has been a long history of ill fortune surrounding the famed (infamous??) Hope Diamond. The Diamond was first purchased in India and cut by a French jeweler in 1666, renaming it “the French Blue”. It was then sold to King Louis XIV in 1668 and its famed curse began. What followed is centuries of misfortunes including, the fall of Athenais de Montespan, mutilation of Princesse de Lamballe, beheadings of Louis XVI & Marie Antoinette, the forced abdication of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, and many many more. The Hope Diamond now resides with the Smithsonian and reportedly, the curse has gone dormant since the acquisition. Let’s hope it stays that way! My French Persian princess sassy cat dons the Hope Diamond in her Parisian apartment. Can you spot the malevolent spirit of the stone lingering? 💎 #cursedrelic #hopediamond #artchallenge #characterdesign #cuteart

Relic Character Design Challenge! A team of incredible artists and I got together to research and create these designs! Here is the list: 📜 @seiji606_ - Tilma of St.Juan Diego @im_arc_ - The Book of Kells @forze.del.male - The Veil of the Virgin Mary @jxneillus - Incorruptible Body of St.Cecilia @lazy.afternoons - St.Clare of Assisi @burnt.tosti - Hope Diamond @3liemarie - Jawbone of St.Anthony 🧚‍♀️ How did St.Anthony's jawbone end up as a relic? Well like most things, curious humans unearthed his grave to take a looksie 🔎. They were like "oh his jaw and tounge are well preserved because he was so good at speaking the word". And then they put it on display🦷 (my summary from looking it up) I always wanted to make a scary tooth fairy character, so it was finally my time 🤣 I made up some story context for her at the end of the slides! Hope you enjoyed seeing these works & discovering new human artists to appreciate!
