At 896, we don’t just tell you what to do. We can actually do it too! ✏️🗒️

Goalie can be played a lot of different ways.

One thing Coach Kevin has done successfully over the years is giving up part of the goal to bait the shooter to that area. 🎣

There’s more than one way to play the position.

Try it out and see if it works for you! 🔊

Off-stick Low: take a direct path to the ball ↘️

On off-stick low shots, goalies often make a sweeping motion instead of driving their hands straight to the ball. Eliminate unnecessary movement.

Throwback Thursday 🔙

14 months ago, we hosted our first official 896 clinic. Since then, we’ve had the opportunity to train 150+ local athletes, work with some incredible coaches, and give back to the lacrosse community in a big way.

For us, 896 has always been about more than just lacrosse. It’s about serving our community, challenging young athletes to push beyond their comfort zones, and giving players the opportunities we wish we had when we were growing up.

We’re extremely grateful for everyone who has supported us, trusted us with their kids, coached with us, and helped us build this thing.

Special shoutout to the group that was with us on Day 1!🤝

And thankfully, we’re just getting started. 🧱

Coach Kevin’s Homecoming at Loyola Blakefield ✅

Awesome day down I-95 in Baltimore. 🌆

Big thanks to everyone who came out and made our first Baltimore clinic one to remember.

It’s safe to say, we will be back. 🥍

Getting the ball out quick on clears is important. What happens when there’s an attackman in your face?

Quick shoulder fake (Tom Brady style 🏈), step around the defender, and deliver a good ball.

A lot of goalies can make saves, but the best goalies can get the ball to their offense and help to create more goals for their team as well. 📈
