Dragonsteel was so much fun! So glad I got to go with my writing group, Inkcraft, and learn more about the writing process as well as the Cosmere as well as buy some art! Such a wonderful time!

Happy spooky season!!⚰️🎃👻 This hauntingly beautiful quote is by the amazing @k.l.taber October is Warp & Weave's favorite month because of all of the spooky stories and art! 🔮 Even though the prose and poetry deadline has closed, the art deadline is still open for a little longer! Send us your spooky art to warp.weave@gmail.com for a chance to be published in our journal. 🎃 #utahvalleyuniversity #halloween #spooky #art #artistsoninstagram (Congratulations, Kennedy!)

🌷🪻 Spell April Using Book Titles Challenge 🌻🌷 Thank you @bibliophilic_wanderer for tagging me in this challenge! I’ve tagged a few people on this post, but don’t feel pressured to do it if you don’t want to :) Also feel free to jump in even if you’re not tagged! 🌻 Books in this post + a fun fact for each: 🌻 A 🪻 A Thousand Nights by E. K. Johnston This is the first (and only?) Shahryar and Scheherazade retelling I’ve read and I want more. Please tell me if you know where I can find more of them 🥺 P 🌸 Pennyroyal Academy by M. A. Larson It took me way too long to figure out if the main character was a human or dragon (or maybe a secret third species???) Bonus fun fact: I was today years old when I found out this book is part of a series 😩 R 🌷 Renegades by Marissa Meyer I once told a friend that this book was “nothing you haven’t read before, but really fun!” As you can tell, I’m really good at convincing people to read books I 🌹 I Loved You in Another Life by David Arnold My library said I had to return this before I had a chance to read it :( L 🌻 Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus I’m actually so excited to read this book like you have no idea. Almost everyone in my real life has heard about this book because I’ve been very excited for like three+ years but I’m actually gonna read it this month, for real! 💬 QOTD: Tell me a fun fact about a book you’ve read! #bookstagrammer #fantasybooks #funnybookstagram #bookstack #aprilbookchallenge

Now to share with you another wonderful piece of art I did, this time for @kendy.taber and her previous project, Dreamlocked. Meet Kalyn, a scampering, addiction-addled heroine looking for answers within the illegal doings of an arcanepunk mafia. She's brash but bold--brave enough to follow her heart and not her House. #characterart #characterintro #newauthor #characters #characterconcept #art #fantasyart

Get yourself a writing group who's going to see your first novel get published. Who's going to tell you your character's motivation is shit. Who's going to be impressed when you can move their hearts. Get yourself a group who is going to cut down orcs with you, because when the apocalypse comes, you're going to need it. #workshopgroups #fantasywriters #axthrowing #newauthors #writinggroup #writing #teamwork
