KUALA LUMPUR STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON 2026 🏁

Official time: 45:11

The target was sub-42, but I knew my current fitness level wasn’t quite there yet. Didn’t hit the target this time, but still happy to walk away with a new PB.

This was also my first year I really started taking running seriously, being more disciplined with training, learning how to train properly, and understanding my own body and limits. Still got a lot to improve and a lot more to learn, but I’m enjoying the process. Hujan atau Sinar, Kita Kisar

Big shoutout to @shokzmalaysia for having me on board for the race weekend. The OpenFit 2 was with me throughout the training, race week and all the way to race day.

First time joining KLSCM and finally getting to race on the streets of KL & definitely an experience I’ll remember. And that @bnwrc & other run club cheer zone… memang lain macam. The adrenaline rush going through the final stretch was crazy, sampai cramp pun hilang

Still a long way to go, but we love the grind 🩶.
Tak laju takpe, janji sampai.

First KLSCM, definitely not the last.

had some time off, so went back to 🇲🇾 for a bit and swapped my usual saturday long run for a little side quest. it’s also been a while since my last 10k race and ahhh i had so much fun out there!!❤️
now back to the longer runs as i work towards my first official full marathon. 62 days to go, see yall out there! :)

My first klscm was an absolutely amazing experience🩵 The cheer zone's atmosphere was hyped up with cheers that reflected on all the hours of sweat and tears leading up to race day🔥

I'm pretty satisfied with my timing considering the insufficient training due to the haze and etc..

No PB this time, but that's okay. The most important thing is showing up ⚫️

Came for that 3:25 marathon PB, but just wasn't my day. Conditions weren't that great, and perhaps started a bit too aggressively and ultimately legs gave way after KM30. Ran walked my way to the sub-4 as consolation so I'll hold my head high that I kept on with it even though everything was screaming DNF.

I could say it was a lot of things, but that's the marathon isn't it? It doesn't care how much work you put in, sometimes it just doesn't go your way. Expecting to be an expert at it after just 3 marathons was probably being a bit naive haha, but still lots to learn from this distance. Shoutout to @craychng who ran the first half of the race with me, locking in that solid PB pace of 4:45 for over 20Ks 🔥 we'll be back with vengeance!

Cheer zone energy was off the charts, definitely forgot how much pain I was in at the end, always nice to see the community together like that.

To my wife @athirahalffian who was here for the whole ride and knew what this race meant to me, you deserve the world for all the support (and teman-ing for those treadmill runs 😂) 💙 side note: she got her 10K PB guys!!!

Race aside, had so much fun over the whole week with all the friends and familiar faces in what is always an event that lives up to its hype. Big ups to @bnwrc and @shokzmalaysia for making race week happen, and to @sportsdirectmy and New Balance Malaysia for the race kit and the journey for the last few months.

Back in the heart of KL for round two at @klscmarathon half marathon! 🇲🇾⚡️

This course never fails to test you—it’s tough, punchy, and demands respect—but the sheer energy of the streets always makes it worth coming back for.

More than the race itself, it’s always such a joy catching up with our Malaysian and Thai running family.

No matter how many times we cross paths around the region throughout the year, the post-run laughs and catch-ups never get old.

Balancing the lens and the legs once again on this whirlwind trip, jumping between media coverage and stepping onto the start line myself.

Huge thank you to the @asicssg team for the opportunity as always to be part of the magic here. 👟✨

Tomorrow’s 21.1k is locked in as a disciplined training block and long run as the build-up toward my year-end marathon continues—plan is not to race but simply find my rhythm, banking the aerobic mileage, and soaking in the race-day atmosphere.

Huge kudos to everyone who smashed the 10km and 5km events this morning! 🙌 To everyone toeing the line for the Half and Full Marathon tomorrow: run strong, pace smart, look out for one another, and here’s hoping the weather plays nice with clear skies and zero haze overhead.

One of my favorite parts about racing overseas? Connecting with old and new friends from all across the region 🌏

Spent last night shaking off the pre-race jitters at the KLSCM Shakeout Run with @asicsmalaysia decked out in the Rise and Shine collection and the newly released ASICS Sonicblast 2 — I was pleasantly surprised how there was no break-in needed!

With less than 24 hours to go until race day, last night served as a great reminder: running brings us together long before we cross any finish line or hit a new PB 🍃
