Dear Class of 2024 (Astate Theatre)

I’ve been thinking about the best way to say goodbye to you all. I tried writing individual notes (turned into a sobbing weirdo). I tried to express it vocally (again, sobbing weirdo).

I guess it’s so hard to deliver this goodbye because of how much you have meant to me as an artist, educator and as a person. The only words that can fully express how I feel are…. “Thank you.”

Thank you for your help in shaping me into the educator I am today. I have learned as much (if not more) from you as I’ve hope you’ve learned from me.

Thank you for coming to Arkansas State University during a time of uncertainty. In many ways, we figure things out together. Which is probably why I saw you as more than my students. You became my friends and my younger siblings.

Thank you for all the laughs, cries, inside jokes 👀 and the amazing artistic discoveries.

Thank you for the shows.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for your art .

Thank you for being you.

I will miss you individually and as a whole. You will forever carry a special place in my heart. I have no doubt that you will all set this world on fire (in a good way).

Goodbye students. Hello, peers and future collaborators.

Your honor, my client is guilty of committing aggressive theatre in the Bachelor of Arts degree , with a Minor offense in Spanish.

Thank you God for carrying me through and for keeping me debt free!
