POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Never in a million years did I think a change of direction in my career into dog world would lead me into such a depth of purpose with foundational friends from the start. It doesn’t happen like that for everyone, & I am beyond blessed it started like that for myself.
Friendships and teachers with focus and drive FOR the dogs.

When we started @petmatrx , we started working with companion dogs.

When we found the people who REALLY understood what we were working towards, through training Opal with @rosewoodk9 , we began to really understand how much working and sport dogs needed what we were creating.
Through this, we found a “home” & found people who were teachers, who stood by honoring the dog, people who became INSTANT friends for life.

Over the years, @doggonedecoy_aka_daboogieman & @vonwolfenfelsk9 have helped me grow my knowledge and understanding of working dogs in more ways than I can even try to explain. Hours of phone calls just discussing mechanics, technique, reading dogs, improving my own skills, understanding how the “game” works.
I can’t thank these two enough for all they have taught me.

Not just with my own dog, but with countless others.

Breaking down scenarios, situations that could have gone one way, or another, techniques that make or break an outcome of a situation.
Painting pictures that honor the dog > instagram highlights that are farthest from reality.

As we all grow in the canine industry, we see the politics, and the drama that exists in it.

But, I think we can all agree that when there’s joy before the line of fire of dog world drama, we can always remember the excellent times that made us laugh until we cried, the joy, excitement, and love in our hearts driving home from the field with our dogs in tow, after an EPIC day of watching our dogs kill it at what they love to do.

Life moves fast, it has its highs, its lows, and through it all, the circles tighten up and the focus becomes crystal clear.

Grateful for my friendships, and the very selective people I can call true friends in this industry.

🎃🎄💀 THIS IS HALLOWEEN… THIS IS CHRISTMAS… THIS IS DOGMAS! 💀🎄🎃

🐾✨ You’re invited to The Nightmare Before Dogmas — a spooky, merry, and pawsitively unforgettable celebration for Honey’s birthday! 🥳🍯🐶❤️

This year, we’re celebrating Honey’s first ever special day with a little Halloween fright, a little Christmas magic, and LOTS of puppy love! 🎂🐾 Whether your pup wants to dress up as a spooky skeleton 💀, a little Christmas elf 🧝, Santa Paws 🎅, or something straight out of Halloween Town, we want to see those adorable costumes! 👻🎄

🎉 WHAT’S IN STORE?
🐕 Fun doggy games!
👻 A spooktacular costume contest!
🐾 A structured pack walk!
🎁 Goodie bags!
🎄 Holiday vibes, new friends, and plenty of tail-wagging fun!

❤️ LET’S MAKE THIS BIRTHDAY EXTRA SPECIAL! ❤️

While this is Honey’s birthday celebration, I’d love for us to make it a special day for everyone’s pups, too! Think of it as an early Christmas celebration for our furry family members — a chance to spoil them, make memories, and spread some holiday cheer before Christmas arrives. 🎁🐶

If you’re able to help out by bringing something for the pups, contributing goodies, or helping with activities, it would mean the world! 🥹❤️ No pressure at all — anything you can contribute is appreciated, and simply showing up to celebrate with us is already a gift! 🎁🐾

⚠️ A LITTLE NOTE FOR OUR FOUR-LEGGED GUESTS: To help keep everyone safe and happy, this event is for dog-friendly pups who are comfortable socializing around other dogs. Please be mindful of your pup’s comfort and boundaries throughout the event. 🐕💕

Honey, I got up so early
And then, I got into the shower
I was just able to go back to sleep for a hour and a half
So that rocked, um, anyway
I had this dream where, um, I don’t know

Learn your dog.
Honor the dog in front of you.
Ask better questions.
Raise the standard.
Because the more you understand your dog, the more you start noticing:

➡️How they think.
➡️How they move.
➡️How they recover.
➡️What fulfills them.
➡️What changes with age.
➡️And what “healthy” actually looks like for that dog.

👋So here’s the question we want to keep asking around here:

➡️What has YOUR dog taught you to pay closer attention to?👇

THE beauty pop-up weekend has ARRIVED 😭💅✨

There are SO many beauty collabs happening in LA this weekend that I’m officially overwhelmed 😂 I guess I’ll just have to pick based on which sweet treat I want… Swedish candy 🍬 Greek yogurt 🍦 or ice cream?! Honestly, this feels like an important decision.

And McDonald’s AND McCharlie’s?!? 👀 Is this about to be the ultimate real vs. vegan challenge or what?! 🍔🌱😂

Plus SO much more happening around LA this weekend! Save this for your weekend plans, send it to your adventure buddy, and come explore with us 💕

✨ Follow @openinvitela for more free + low-cost things to do in LA
