Yesterday, High Main10ance gave out its first scholarship: The Highest Degree Scholarship ✨! Congratulations to our two recipients: Kamryn Howell and Tavion Green📚🤓. Kamryn will be attending Old Dominion University 💙🤍in the fall majoring in psychology. Tavion Green will be attending John Tyler Community College in the fall to complete his prerequisites with plans to transfer to Riverside for their surgical technologist program. May you both reach all of your dreams and continue to BE & SET the Standard everywhere you go❤️‍🔥. ONE LAST RIDE. 🎢🏀🖤✨ Wow. This year has been my favorite high school basketball season because we were TOGETHER. We are TOGETHER. We had never been this close until this season. We understood that each of us had a role and that role was vital to the success of our team. We grew as young women, as teammates, and as sisters❤️. We were small in number.. dealt with doubters...had no or very limited media coverage...had several injuries...played through injuries...but with God, WE, the Lady Cougars, were determined to persevere and that’s what life is all about. This season was bigger than basketball✨‼️ This season taught me life lessons. It taught me to cherish every single moment doing what you love with the people you love, to listen to the message, look at the big picture, and to never give up. I am eternally grateful for my coaches this season. You all pushed us farther than we’ve ever been pushed to push through everything standing in our way. This season was for every Lady Cougar before us, every Lady Cougar after us, and every Lady Cougar right now. And to my fellow seniors, although this hurts, the fact that we didn’t play our last game, we told ourselves we would become State Champions before the day was over✨. We told ourselves the truth💯. I love y’all mane. In all actuality, it’s hard but it’s fair. Thank you Surry County, for four years of greatness. Oh how I will miss Spider-man’s voice commentating our games with the most excitement🗣, I will miss hugging our fans after walking out of the locker room post game😢, I will miss hearing Pastor Baltimore’s words of wisdom after we play❤️, and I will miss leading our prayer chants in the locker room and chants before jump ball 🥺. I hope the next little girl with big dreams, who wears #12, has the courage to lead like she’s already a captain, has the humility to listen, receive, and apply, and plays every practice and game like it’s her last, because it just might be🥺. #12out #LCFOREVA 💛💙
