People questioned this move. Adults threw shade but to get to where you want to go, sacrifices have to be made! The sacrifice @coach_cd7 made and @iamchelly_soul made to move with @chikaee Daytona Beach were necessary! I know it wasn't easy but it was 100% WORTH IT!! Chikae has been one of the most decorated girls players in Louisiana history! From being a 2x State Champion, all state player multiple times, 30+ D1 offers, 20+ P4 offers, 2500+ points, now a National Championship to her resume before heading to @rutgerswbb So proud of you 3!! So proud of you Chris and Michelle. Job well done mom and dad.

To @michael_panaggio I thank you for believing in Chikae. I thank you for trusting my word when I told you she can help you win a Natty. I appreciate you and I know they do as well! You are family for life my brother! But guess what, we aren't done 👀😉

The Louisiana pipeline begins!! 2026 4-Star Recruit Chikae Desdunes of New Orleans, LA has become the 1st Commitment in the Gary Redus era at Rutgers! Chikae brings exceptional leadership, elite passing, shooting, scoring and defense to New Jersey.

The 5'10" guard was an IMMEDIATE priority for Redus after a coaching change was made at Penn State. The vision he has and the style of play fits everything Chikae wants and she fits everything Rutgers needs. Congratulations kiddo, super proud of you!

Coach G may have left the Boot but he is bringing a little bit of New Orleans to Jersey! #RUReady #Rutgers #Committed #Louisiana #iRepThaBoot

It's official: 4-star ESPN Recruit, Chikae Desdunes, has committed to Coach Carolyn Kieger and Penn State University! The #51 ranked recruit in the 2026 class from New Orleans, LA, is a key piece for Coach Kieger and the Lady Nittany Lions.

Desdunes, a 5'10" guard from New Orleans playing at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, FL, is one of the best shooters and passers in the country. She is elite in the pick-and-roll and capable of catching fire in an instant.

Desdunes chose Penn State over Michigan State, Purdue, West Virginia, Baylor, and Auburn.
Congratulations, Chikae!
