Where do I even start? 🥹

Thank you, @nasapsli , for an intentional, impactful, and unforgettable experience.

As a first-time attendee, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I came with one goal: to leave with something that would make me a better student leader and servant leader. What I left with, though, was so much more.

This past week’s institute was nothing short of extraordinary, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the sessions, networking opportunities, activities, advisors, students, Tribe work, and everything in between, I gained lifelong skills, friendships, memories, mentors, and experiences that have transformed, empowered, enhanced, and equipped me to be the leader God has called me to be.

Every moment mattered. Every person added value. Everything and everyone were absolutely incredible, and I am so thankful for this amazing experience.

I’m also extremely excited, honored, and grateful to serve as a NASAP SLI INFLUENCER!!!! 🎉 Special shoutout to my Podcasters/Interviewer Family—you all are the absolute BEST! ❤️🎙️

I also want to sincerely thank @milescollege (Student Activities & Affairs @miles_student_life @miles_sga ) for not only entrusting me with the opportunity and responsibility to serve our campus and community, but also for allowing me to proudly represent Miles College at NASAP SLI. What an absolute honor and privilege it is to represent the best HBCU! Trust me, I do not take this opportunity lightly, nor do I take it for granted.

And a BIG special thank you to the best advisors ever!!! Y’all seriously rock 🎸🫶🏾 @leonfparker3 @terisanders

I am so grateful for this newfound community and, honestly, a little sad that all good things must come to an end. Still, I am hopeful, excited, and eager to see all the amazing things our delegations, administrations, and courts will accomplish—both together and as the incredible individual leaders that each of us are. 🫶🏾

Until next time, NASAP SL

The year was 2016.

I wasn’t loud about it. I was just living in it.

I was happy every day because I got to pour into kids I believed in. That was the win for me.
Now, years later, those same kids are some of the top athletes in the country and y’all are watching them on TV.

I was coaching football with the Georgia Rattlers.
My track team, @trackgeorgia , won the State Championship, City Championship, produced 20+ All-Americans, and broke over 12 records.

I started a weekly run group, @artdistrictrunningcrew , partnered with Nike, and was still working for the @atlantafalcons .
I was still a chef at @ciboatlanta restaurant in Buckhead, we even made it to the @foodnetwork working with my chef Linda Harrell.

On the music side, our publishing company earned its second and third platinum records with “Let Me Explain” by Bryson Tiller and “No Role Modelz” by J. Cole.

@dopeboyra was in his stride too, dropping I Am What I Am, HighEndLowLife, and Higher. @artdistrictmusicgroup Everybody around me was working, creating, pushing forward.

And in the middle of all that, I lost my friend and one of my first artists, @streetmoneybankroll . March 2016. Right as he was rising. I still cry about this to this day. Now Fresh & Ra are both gone way too young.

What I’ve learned is this:
You don’t always see the impact while you’re in it.
Sometimes you’re just planting seeds, trusting time to do the rest.

I wasn’t chasing attention.
I was chasing purpose.

If you’re in a season where it feels quiet, keep going.
The work is working, even when nobody’s watching. Here’s to #2016
