Had a great morning with @kacoplays playing games! We got in 8 plays of 5 games, all of which were new to her and 2 that were new to me!

- Shallow Regrets by @buttonshy
- Nekojima by @friendlyskeleton
- Oddland by @allplayhq
- The new Forest Shuffle Smoky Mountains by @lookout_games and @asmodee_usa - definitely my favorite of the day!
- Coffee Rush Grab and Go by @koreaboardgames_en - a super quick version of Coffee Rush that we both really enjoyed!

I’m loving these game days we’ve been able to have! It’s so much fun!

I spent the weekend in Rochester, New York. Why? Well, to see @kacoplays and Millennium Games, of course!

At Coty's suggestion, we had breakfast at the Mad Hatter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Game store no. 1: Millennium Games. Rumored to be the largest board game store in the country. Absolutely phenomenal selection of new and used stock. Amazing demos, amazing deals. Staff were kind and helpful. Worth the trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Game cafe no. 1: Waypoint. Play space/cafe/bar for Millennium and also extremely impressive. We played One Round? gifted to me by @devirgames . Then we had to say goodbye to Coty, but we had so much fun hanging out with her and I can't wait to do it again. ❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Game store no. 2: Just Games . Regular pricing was high, but we lucked out and they were having a good sale. This was the best place for RPG zines. Great customer service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No 3: Boldo's Armory. A dusty selection, but definitely some gems. Found a couple reasonably priced out of print oldies. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We checked out McFall's Books nearby and that was the best curated selection of reasonably-priced used books I have ever experienced. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dinner at Nerdvana. Excellent food. Fun playing old video games. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We played Illimat and Flip Pick Towers before getting some sleep. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Heading home, no. 4: Mystify Games, Waterloo. Large space, tiny selection. Decent if new to the hobby. ⭐️⭐️

No. 5: Exiled Games, Herkimer. Tiny but some interesting titles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Game cafe no. 2: Fortress of Gaming, Colonie. A play space for the next store. Massive. Excellent game library. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

No. 6: Zombie Planet, Albany. Fantastic new and some old selection, but no used or visible deals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

And just like that, we're back home with piggalos and our game haul.

Yesterday I got to meet up with @kacoplays for some more gaming! We got 5 games to the table!

First up was Viking See Saw by @itten_games which is all about loading all your cargo onto the ship without tipping it or else you get a penalty AND have to take anything that fell off.

Then came Azure by @bitewinggames with the Cosmos expansion. Having the uneven board size gave a new twist to the game that I liked!

Then Dragon Scrolls by @moonsagaws which is a quick but strategic game of gaining points by arranging your cards in a certain order.

Jump Drive by @riograndegames was next and this one was new to me! I really enjoyed learning it and can’t wait to try it again now that I know what I’m doing more!

We wrapped it up with Forest Shuffle by @lookout_games and I got crushed 😂 This was only my second play of this game and my first physical play so I haven’t quite figured out how to optimize getting points yet!

It was a great play session! I’m so thankful to have a friend who likes gaming as much as I do!

Yesterday I got to spend a few hours playing games with @kacoplays and it was exactly what I needed during my surgery recovery! It really cheered me up after being stuck in the house for the last week ❤️

We got 5 games to the table!

- Azure by @bitewinggames - this is a favorite of mine and I was so excited to teach this!
- Wine Cellar by @25thcenturygames - I really want to get this one to the table with a bigger group to see how the auctioning mechanic works with more people!
- Flamecraft Duals by @cbalchemy - I love these portable little dragons! 🐉
- Finspan with the new Sharks and Reefs expansion by @jameystegmaier and @stonemaiergames - The coral added an interesting new twist to the game. I’m excited to play this one again to see if I can make better use of it!
- Le Chocolat by @allplayhq - we added this last minute, which is why it didn’t make the group photo! A very quick and simple game that was new to both of us!

*Azure and Le Chocolat were both gifted to me for review, but opinions are always my own.

Mystery Monday time! This week, we have the topic of "Doppelganger" as chosen by @kacoplays 👥👥👥

Do you know which game features this very skillful doppelganger? Leave a comment if you do!

Do you know this game?
Comment 👇

It’s #mysterymonday🎲 all over again, which challenges you to identify the game from just one pic. Time to put up those sore feet from UKGE and have a good ponder over this one. This week the theme is “doppelgänger” as chosen by @kacoplays

👯‍♂️ This game is all about the internal workings of the mind. The doppelgänger effect was written about in 1919 by Freud. In this game you will seek to become the most notable of Freud’s contemporaries as you drive forward the discipline of psychoanalysis.

Last week’s answer is the rather charming Charterstone from @stonemaiergames one of my favourite legacy experiences.

🧙‍♀️ Mystery Monday 🧹

This week's mystery comes straight from @ukgamesexpo and one of the lovely independent publishing teams we met over the weekend.

You might just find the answer hiding in our UKGE 2026 Haul post... 👀🧐

This particular game was demonstrated by someone who looked uncannily like they had stepped straight out of the artwork itself! Almost if the game Designer and Illustrator had put them there! 🤔

Can you guess the game? Let us know below, but dont give it away to everyone else! 👇

#mysterymonday is here and it’s a fun one! This week’s theme is Doppelgänger suggested by my friend @kacoplays

I had to think about this one a bit but I came up with the perfect game! This one can be played as 2 separate games, however…. You can also play the “double barrel” version using both boards! This is a game I’ve really enjoyed playing, however I haven’t tried the double board mode yet and I really need!

Do you recognize this one? And if so, which version do you prefer?

Mystery Monday is hosted by @obsessedwithboardgames

Last week’s game was River Valley Glassworks!
