Thank you to all those who came out and supported us. Loved training for this and doing something both mentally and physically hard. Great way to kick off Rett syndrome awareness for the month of October💜🫶🏽 #rettsyndromeawareness #wasatchhalfmarathon #camilamoreno #nowican

No pavement—just dirt and rocks beneath my feet. The hills never-ending, with over 1,000 feet of elevation gain. This race wasn’t just tough—it was raw, grueling, and humbling. And in so many ways, it mirrored my journey with Camila.
I trained for weeks. I followed every plan, checked every box. And yet, nothing could fully prepare me for the reality of the course. Just like I prepared for a healthy baby—read the books, followed the advice, did everything right—but life had a different path in mind.
What I got wasn’t what I expected. It was more. So much more.
Camila gives my life a deeper meaning than I ever imagined. She teaches me patience—real patience—not just with her, but with myself, and with the world that often doesn’t understand why she’s different. She is pure light.
At mile 11, when the end was near and my knees were burning, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I thought about the challenges she faces every single day—challenges most of us will never fully grasp. And in that moment, I told myself: If she can do hard things, so can I.
For the last two miles, I put on the Trolls soundtrack. Tears streamed down my face. I wasn’t just running anymore—I was running for her.
And as “Get Back Up Again” played in my ears, I realized that’s exactly what Camila does, every day. No matter how tough it gets, she gets back up—and so will I. 💜🤍#myholland #rettsyndromeawareness #nowican #inhonorofcamilamoreno #wasatchhalfmarathon
