I did a talk about my career since studying at @mdx_fashion @fcsmdx @mdxfashionvisualcultures today 💘 A live Zoom and Q+A and it really was humbling! ☺️💘 Mad to look back at my career from studying fashion at @mdx_fashion and then going on to do 7 independent collections to also collaborating with some amazing people along the way! ◼ Tonight is the award ceremony for the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize, and, as I may have mentioned once or twice, my image will be up on the gallery wall as one of the winners. The significance of this—my first time showing work in any gallery—isn’t lost on me. ◼ This photo isn’t the winning image, but it is of the winning subject. The winning portrait is pinned to the top of my profile. I love this shot too, and it was a close call as to which one I’d submit. ◼ To coincide with the exhibition opening, I’ve also created a new book/zine called Never Never Streets, another first. It includes a bit of my poetry to complement some of the images. If you’re interested in a copy, let me know! I printed a very short run, but I’ll do more once the exhibition is underway. ◼ The overall winner will be announced tonight, but honestly, I already feel like a winner—my image has been used as the lead on the website and in various promo spots, so it’s had great visibility, which I’m grateful for. The exhibition opens on Thursday, and I hope those of you who are local can come by to see the work in person. ◼ Apologies for the long message, and I appreciate I'm repeating myself a bit, but someone has to!
