// 📸 photowalk with @scenesfromthestreetcollective, 4 sep 2026; 📍: Lavender MRT ➡️ Kampong Glam ➡️ DUO Galleria ➡️ South Beach Quarter ➡️ Golden Mile Food Centre ➡️ Kallang MRT 📅: 4 September 2026 📷: Leica M11-P Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH II APO-Telyt-M 135mm f/3.4 Summilux-M 21mm f/1.4 ASPH Noctilux-M 75mm f/1.25 ASPH 🗒: ‘repetition’ // ✏️ intrusive thoughts; almost had to take leave to make it for 5pm but managed to get away 😮‍💨 as always, it’s a blast going on a photowalk with @scenesfromthestreetcollective and @eugenetanned ‘s infectious brand of eccentricity 🙌🏻 thanks for trusting me to navigate on this extra-long route 🗺 repetition was such a interesting theme for this walk—i was saying that i find this especially hard to do well. it’s easy to find patterns (and our ape brains are drawn to them like moths to flame), but to make these patterns say something meaningful is another thing entirely 🙃 this was a unique challenge and a great opportunity to think back on my own work over the past year-and-half, especially shooting every day in the same CBD spaces—am i presenting new frames and perspectives, or just doomed to repeat myself? well, i don’t have an answer right now, but in the worst case, repetition legitimises™ amirite 🤣 still working on that photobook, but for now, i have 4 trips’ worth of backlog to get through 🥲 last but not least, shoutout to 11/10 supportive @ja.yx for always being there as i continue making my way through the list of every hobby ever invented ❤️ probably gonna stay a while on this one though 🤭

𝐅𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝟑.𝟎 𝐚𝐤𝐚 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 felt strange and surreal. 6 years ago in 2020, I participated in my first ever wedding photography workshop and remembered how fresh it felt. The workshop was conducted by Kai and Samuel I remembered thinking then the sky is the limit. In 2024, I attended the first ever Fill The Frame International Workshop (Govinda x Sanren), and I had a first-hand experience on what it is like, as an introvert, to be pushed out of my comfort zone and to REALLY interact and socialise with fellow photographers who attended the workshop outside of the workshop hours. It was now not a case of ‘end of workshop – I can go home now’ but more of a ‘end of workshop, I get to chat and hang with follow photographers now’. That was life changing. The sudden realisation that it was not just about learning from the speakers, but more from your fellow industry friends. The sudden realisation that having industry friends is more than just a friendly ‘hi and bye’ but more of a support system that will keep you going for years, and years… and years. I have always said that us photographers are competitors yes, but FRIENDS first. It's a sense of déjà vu the second time I flew into Bali and witnessing new faces getting to experience what I experienced. I smiled to myself so many bloody times. These photographers now have industry friends for life. To provide a listening ear if they can. To push each other to new, better photographs and service level for their couples/clients. It was blissful to have witnessed that. For me – the bonds I have made became stronger, and I felt the same sense of warmth, joy, support, and strength that was akin to the first Fill The Frame. The language the speakers spoke gave me insights to better my level of photography, and interestingly I became even more inspired now by the level of work the attendees provided and the stories they shared. It blew my mind. The universe is the limit now. All because of all you folks – the attendees, the speakers, the organisers and the tireless work by Govinda, Cheryl and the GRAF team behind the scenes. Damn, it was amazing.
